Also a bit inspired from current 5v5 top Mobafire Poppy builds and personal experience.
Items
Starting Items:
Poppy is very capable of clearing the Jungle without the Refilable Potion or using Smite, which will give you a Smite charge that the enemy jungler probably has used to clear his jungle and some money advantage.
You should have cleared the jungle by 2min, once it's done, back to base and buy your jungler item upgrade and go back to the jungle to capture the Altar.
If you don't feel comfortable not using a Refilable Potion and Smite at first it is fine.
