Introduction

Greetings. My name is Muha and this is my first build here on mobafire. I'm an avid fan of Shyvanna and decided to share what I know about this freaking awesome half-dragon.

Any suggestions are welcome of course. I hope you enjoy playing with Shyvanna as much as I do.

What is Shyvana?

In short. A half-dragon. She breaths fire, jumps into fights burning everything in her path and is pain in the butt to kill. Play her right, you'll have your enemies squealing that their skirts have been singed and they'll run back home to their Nexus. Or at least they'll try.

Runes

I'll add more details here as much as I can but since I ain't level 30 yet, I haven't bothered filling my rune pages with anything relevant.

I'm currently using Attack Speed Marks, Quintescenes and Glyphs along with Health Regen per 5 Seals.

Masteries

The defensive mastery tree is the way to go. Although a 21/9/0 approach will give you more bang for your buck, I'd rather stay alive and bang a lot more. My playstyle usually involves nearly suicidal jumps in the middle of team fights and ace the team with ~15hp left. Just feels badass when you use her Dragon Form taunt once your done.

Summoner Spells

Exhaust + Ignite is a classic combo, but none the less effective. I've tested her with various other summoner spells but I've found that this helps you get an easy first blood, chase lil yordles to their doom, or just shut down that annoying carry (or someone like Swain, Fiddlesticks or Warwick) and help tip the fight in your favor.

Another interesting combo would be Surge + Ghost. Makes chasing champions (or escaping ganks) much easier. Surge also allows for better damage output in duels or can simply allow you to gobble up turrets (Not to mention using it when in dragon form allows you to scare the living lights outa other players).

Items & Gameplay (Normal)

Shyvanna must be built tanky. He damage output does not come from crits or powerful spells but from her ability to consistently dish out good incrememnts of damage while keeping your opponents on their toes and you alive.

Start with a Doran's Sheild, and head up top. Solo or duo with almost any laning partner works. I usually prefer someone who can burst damage if you can't take top for yourself.

Exhaust + Ignite withon and a will help with an easy first blood.

Aggressive play is key here, the more your in contact with your enemy and is on, the better the damage output. Harass using hit-and-run tactics with while is active.

If played right, you'll have a good amount of CS and the turret will be down within 5 minutes (my record is 4 minutes).

Go back and buy your boots of speed, and some pots. If you've got enough gold, buy a Phage, or it's components. This is your first Core item, it'll help you stay on your targets and make it tougher for them to escape your clutches.

Now that you're in the mid-game phase, you need to roam around and gank, burning through the jungle (preferably your enemy's) in the process. Next items to aim for would be Mercury Treads and Wriggle's Lantern.

Mercury Treads is vital. As a dragon, enemy champions will try to throw whatever they have at you! Wriggle's Lantern helps with the CS, defense and life steal. Not to mention the free ward, now go ward that dragon or Baron.

Next step is Brutalizer, your second core item. This 1337 gold item is a beauty. CD reduction, damage and armor penetration. Hell even it's price screams epic. It'll help you eat other champions fast, coupled with your , you'll be tearing through those tanks as well.

From here on buy resistances, armor (preferably Randuin's Omen) for and AD heavy enemy team, magic resist (I'd suggest Banshee's Veil, FoN is also a very appealing choice, both work). Atma's Impaler will help with Damage, or if you're off-tanking, just aim for a Warmogs and Distract the enemy team while the rest of yours does the job. Don't forget to finish up [Phage > Frozen Mallet] and your [The Brutalizer > Youmuu's Ghostblade].

Items & Gameplay (Dominion)

Start with Boots + Ruby + Long Sword.

Similar to the normal build, but forgo Wriggle's Lantern. Exchange Frozen Mallet for Entropy. everything else is the same. You'll probably finish the game before completing the third item.
