Root goes through minions so you have to be careful trying to land your Q or you'll get hit
Morgana
Can be easily spaced out by hiding behind minions to avoid her Q and punished if she trys to get to close to land one but her Black Shield stops the Knockup from yourr Q and the slow from your E
Taric
On Demand stun can stop your chase so make sure you let Q rip even if not charged for the knockup if its flying at you also has heals for ADC sustain and lots of bonus armor
Soraka
If she hits you with Equinox to silence your Q just make sure to move out of it before you get rooted otherwise only really has sustain for her ADC
Annie
Has an "on demand" stun but you can see when its ready to fire dangurous at 6 if they make it there first and decide to burst you down like when pared with Graves
Leona
Has a gap closer and a stun to mess with you but you should be able to outrange her almost all the time unless she really wants to initiate on you over the ADC for whatever reason can be dangerous at 6 if achieved first
Nami
Decent Range a ground targeted stun and heals so if you see the stun coming for you just let the Q rip first to do some damage
Anivia
Not often seen but has a decent stun and a wall to slow your pursuit and a pretty good passive
Karma
you should be able to hide behind minions to keep her from hitting you with her Q unless she wants to push the lane just don't get caught overextending and get rooted by her E if she mantras it it gives her 20% of missing HP when used and another 20% when it roots you
Braum
Pretty good poke with his Q but can be avoided by hiding behind minions also has an escape to a friendly target or engage and a wall shield that will stop ranged attacks from getting past him pretty good all round but even more dangerous with Lucian
Alistar
has a knockup and a knockback to mess with your chase and any Q's you might try to land but if he uses them first to try and get your ADC wont be able to stop you from knocking him up in return. Takes almost no damage when ult is up so don't focus when it's active.
Blitzcrank
This fight is entirely dependant on how good your ADC is at dodging blitz grabs because if so its probably green threat but if not its red threat because if your ADC doesn't get grabbed often you should be able to simply out harass him and make sure he can't do much without a jungle gank
Thresh
Another one thats dependand on the ability to dodge Hooks easy if dodged but hard if not also has a pretty dangerous 6 especially if jungle comes.
Caitlyn
Cait has the longest base range in the game and an escape in the net so she is really hard to catch with a long range support so be carefull not to get poked down trying to harras her. Consider maxing E first to at least poke at her but be careful you will probably push the lane doing it.
Corki
Pretty solid ADC has a very good escape/engage in Valkyrie and good poke/waveclear with Phosphorous bomb ult isn't too dangerous but leads to lots of extra damage with Tri-Force
Ezreal
Another great poke ADC with a free escape in his E so he is hard to get ahold of especially when trying to only lasthit with his Q
Lucian
Has a dash that doesn't take him as far as EZ or corkie but will get out of your Q if used correctly and depending on who your ADC is might dash in for the passive then laser and passive again to keep your ADC or you low depending on how the lane is going works extremely well with Braum because of his passive
Ashe
Not too dangerous just make sure not to take too much damage from her spreadshot unless your getting some damage in also can be crazy at 6 with some supports when her ult is used to chainstun
Miss Fortune
Not too bad to lane against but can shoot then Q to get some decent burst on someone also has an attack speed steroid with her W
Draven
Doesn't have an escape but his Stand Aside is a knockback and a slow to mess with you(really anoying with a support who keeps stuning you or knocking you away) and a global ult
Jinx
No escape except well placed flame chompers but has decent range in rocket launcher stance and a skillshot with a slow attached but can be dodged pretty easily. Just don't walk over the chompers, if she has a support that lets her throw them under you and have them go off it can be bad news bears.
Lulu
Has pretty good poke in her skillshot but other then that not much else till 6 except a polymorph(turns you into a critter for a sec)
Sona
Has really good poke and sustain but if you can slow her with an E you should be able to land a charged Q and lay on the hurt because of her short range
Lux
Can be tricky because unlike morgana her skillshot root goes through 1 target and will hit another beind it but also unlike morgana has no Black Shield so cant stop your knockup but has decent range if paired with another long range like Cait
Vayne
Has very short range but has a tumble so if you watch for it you can get some pretty easy harass Dangerous if fed somehow but can shoot you backwords if needed
Tristana
Has a decent range and gains 9 more each level eventually getting more range then Cait also has a really good escape and an ult to shoot a target back If she hits you with E you can just shield the damage with your W if its off cooldown
Quinn
Her blind doesn't really both you much but her dive jumps her off you AND has a small knockback on you just enough to stop Q and a slow ult turns her into a bird CAWWWWWWWW
Graves
Has a small dash to get away or in but very short range be careful not to take too many buckshots without trading some damage of your own and your golden but be careful at 6 because he has one of the highest burst damages and ADC can get
Kog'Maw
No escape but very long range while his W is active can be easy or hard depending on how safe he plays lane and who his support is
Sivir
Not very scary but if her spellshield is used correctly can be very annoying since its free sans cooldown so if she saves it for your knockup it makes her very hard to pindown so if good consider letting rip early to try and just get the slow or to just be able to punch her a few extra time or get away
Twitch
Unless he get a few early kills should be very easy no escape except his stealth so just try to keep him down and scared but don't open yourself up to easy ganks
Xerath
Decent poke with his Q but if you space correctly you can make him push the lane and kill minions or make him get them low so his ADC has to try and get them and be open for you but can be annoying with Cait
Vel'Koz
Awkward angles on his Q may make it hard to avoid at first and he can make it break early before the end to catch you not too hard but very strong at 6 is he lands the knockup on his E into ult
Volibear
You should be able to outrange/outpoke him very easy even if you have to let Q go early just for the slow just be aware that his passive makes him very hard to kill if you get into a fight early on and can turn the tide. If you get Q thrown backwords into say some Chompers from Jinx it can be Bad News Bears(get it!!!!!)
Kalista
Her passive is a built in escape mechinism and if played correctly can be VERY hard to knockup with your Q and her Q is a skillshot that she can fire blankly to get the passive and leap further away or in(but a bad kalista is cannon fodder)
Nidalee
Sort of like blitz and thresh where if your ADC likes to eat spears and get punced on can make the lane awful so watch out for those and she has an OK heal for sustain
Janna
Very strong shield that gives her ADC a bunch of free AD while its still up also has tornado for a knockup if used correctly and a really good ult for peeling you and healing unless you counter it with your ult(don't waste ult just for this unless your going to get a kill also its really fast you have to think she is going to do it)
Varus
Not too hard to lane against as he has no escape but he has really good range with his Q and a slow on his E. You can ult if you see his ult coming Like all other slows/roots/stuns but is very situational if you want to do so
Hello my summoner name Is Lachd http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/21340479 I'm not Gold or anything yet but I just started up playing alot again at the end of season 4 and the preseason and thought to myself while playing Sion jungle "Man this champ might do pretty good as a support" and so that's pretty much how this all began.
Now am gold! all the way from bronze 3 my worse placements ever! I finished the season with 74 support Sion games played with 50 wins 24 losses at a 67.6% win/loss ratio with him.

Generally the preferred spells to take are Flash and Exhaust but you can run Ignite instead of exhaust for more kill potential VS certain bot lanes

Maxing E vs Q
Most people prefer E as the easy thing to max and get some damage off but most of the time you are going to push the lane doing it and I only really Prefer it if you are getting severely out ranged by say Cait and you want to at least get some poke in on her. But Q first VS the majority of champions lets you just use E to get the slow off and run in for the Q slam without destroying the minion wave to get to the ADC.
