This is a guide on how to make you better at playing Akali top, and simular to akali mid, wich i dont like that much, But lets jump to the Guide.
Akali is a assasin with great sustain and highly bursted damage, With an Hextech Gunblade u can easily burst down the other teams adc.

There are many runes you can use when you are playing Akali but the runes i like to play with her is the.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power For the extra 15AP in the begging, and that is really good to start of!

And for the reds im using. Greater Mark Of Hybrid Penetration to get both Armor and Magic Pen, As Akali is an Hybrid Assasin

And for the Blues im using. Greater Glyph of Magic Resist For extra Magic Resist against you're opponents.

And for the yellows im using. Greater Seal of Armor For the extra armor against you're opponents.

For the Masteries im going, 9/21/0 for the extra sustain such as, Armor, MR & Health.

Its really good to go with the extra sustain, because Akali late game will be like an offtank, that does alot of damage and can resist the other teams damage.
Akali good sustain and get the magic pen and extra AP

Offense :
Sorcery For the extra CDR, Really good for Akali!
Blast Great for the extra AP for level, something you need with Akali
Arcane Knowledge Magic Penetration, IMPORTANT!

Defense :
Hardiness & Resistance Is really good for you're Akali it gives you extra Armor & MR so you can reduce damage from you'r opponent!

The items for Akali has alot of AP, Life Steal, Spell Vamp, Armor & Health.

The item that make Akali the best. Is the It gives you, Ability Power, Attack Damage, Spell Vamp & Life Steal,
Activated : Unique - Unnamed: Deals 150 + 40% of your ability power as magic damage and slows the target champion's movement speed by 40% for 2 seconds. 60 second cooldown.
Thats a really good active, so if you are good on using items, buy that as early as you can, and with that u can easily kill everyone u sees.

After the Hextech Gunblade, i usualy get my Sorcerer's Shoes for the extra Movement Speed,
And if you want you'reAkali to get better, Buy you're Rabadon's Deathcap, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, And a Guardain Angel!
With that you can easily carry the game for you're team!

Hextech Gunblade This will reck there day!
Rabadon's Deathcap This will make you do so much more damage with you're
Mark of the Assassin & Shadow Dance
Guardian Angel The GA will make you're Akali so much stronger!! so thats a item you really need!!
If you want some extra health in you're lane or just in General you should really start to build an Rylai's Crystal Scepter for extra health and more Ability Power!! This is really good for sustain and out health you're opponent!
Also this item : Zhonya's Hourglass This will make you're Akali so so strong! If the other team are focusing you, you can just pop it and stand still for 2 seconds, then if they start to attack you again, you're GA will pop, and you have like to extra lives, So the
Guardian Angel & Zhonya's Hourglass Is a MOST FOR AKALI!

Twin Disciplines

Akali's auto attacks deal 6% (+ 1% per 6 AP) bonus magic damage.

DISCIPLINE OF MIGHT: Akali gains 6% (+ 1% per 6 bonus AD) spell vamp.

Mark of the Assassin

Akali spins her kama at a target enemy to deal 45 / 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 (+40% of ability power) magic damage and mark the target for 6 seconds.
Akali's melee attacks against a marked target will consume the mark to cause 45 / 70 / 95 / 120 / 145(+40% of ability power)magic damage and restore 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 energy.

Twilight Shroud

Akali throws down a cover of smoke that lasts for 8 seconds. While inside the area, Akali gains 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 armor and magic resist and becomes stealthed. Attacking or using abilities will briefly reveal her for 0.5 seconds.

Enemies inside the smoke have their movement speed reduced by 14 / 18 / 22 / 26 / 30 %.

Crescent Slash

Akali flourishes her kamas, dealing physical damage and triggering any Marks of the Assassin on nearby enemies.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 (+ 30% AP) (+ 60% AD)

Shadow Dance

Akali uses an Essence of Shadow, dashing to and dealing magic damage to a target enemy. Akali gains an Essence of Shadow periodically, affected by cooldown reduction, up to a maximum of 3. Additionally, Akali gains an Essence of Shadow for each kill or assist she obtains.

NEW ESSENCE OF SHADOW: 25 / 20 / 15

MAGIC DAMAGE: 100 / 175 / 250 (+ 50% AP)

Pros :
-Great at securing kills
-Great ganker
-Great pusher
-Great farmer
-Really good at survining.
(note what i mean with that is that she can jump away with her Shadow Dance and get down her Twilight Shroud for getting some extra time to be alive)
-Good Engage in team fights
-Top/Mid, Sololane for Akali is the best
-Has an insane amount of burst damage.
-Covers vasts amount of distance with her sheer mobility.
-Attack animations allow you to farm easily.
-Extremely versatile.
-Snowballs if doing well.

Cons :
-Higher learning curve.
-Practically no crowd control.
-Crowd control rapes Akali.
-Undoubtedly squishy.
-One of the first targets people search for.
-Items such as Vision Ward & Oracle's Elixir cripple her.

BAD LANES

Lee Sin This is you're worse counter in the hole game, he can just fly around with his
Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike & Safeguard / Iron Will
He will do that while you go on him with you're Shadow Dance so there is no chance u can fight him in the early game.

Garen Garen is also one of you're counters, He is a really annnoying champin to play against.
But the one thing is that, he has the Silence, He is tanky and he can own Akali in a 1v1 at top lane for sure.
But if you just try to poke him with you're Mark of the Assassin and farm, you will come out okay in mid game!

GOOD LANES

Fizz If you are up against Fizz either in Top/Mid u can easily trade with him, and if you hit 6 first, u can beat him pretty easy, just remember to outfarm him and push as much as you can, and you will come out on top him late game!!

Renekton Is a really strong Offtank that you usually can meat at the top lane.
He can easily survive you're engage because of his Ruthless Predator that stuns the opponent & his Cull the Meek which gives him health back to survive, And for the last his Dominus which is his ulty that gives him extra health and can survive much longer.
But if you wanna beat someone like him in you're lane, Just focus on farming and poke him down with you're Mark of the Assassin and run him out of pots so you can out sustain him!!

With Akali im using Flash Ignite Flash just so u can get away easily, and Ignite to secury kills.

You can replace you're Flash With a Ghost Or Exhaust to catch you're opponent easily!

I usually Enchant my boots With Enchantment: Homeguard so i can have the extra Movement speed when i need it if the other team are pushing into our Nexus

Or if we have the envantage and are pushing there Nexus i usually go with the
Enchantment: Furor so i get extra Movement speed after a single attack for 2 seconds, and that is really good if you wanna run away from someone to!
