Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
If you're versing a Jax who knows what he's doing you are kinda screwed. If you skip gromp on red team or do standard clear blue team you can get bot lane early and try and snowball them, other than that Jax will probably out duel and scale you.
Shaco
Boxes and invade power are everything Shaco needs to take a Yi out of the game. I put him red, but if you have a good top laner you can destroy him in teamfights. Just don't fall behind your team.
Kayn
Kayn is kinda 50-50. He's new so people are still figuring him out, but if you time your Alpha's right you can easily kill him in fights.
Warwick
Warwick is pretty good at dealing with Yi, his E can stop your engage and his ult can completely take you out of any fight, but like any duelist tank, he can't 1v1 you.
Fiddlesticks
Fiddlesticks has a lot of things in his kit to make Yi have a hard time, but he is so easy to shut down early that it usually doesn't get to that point.
Hecarim
If you guys still see Hecarim's in your game, just try and wait for his level 3 invade at your red, and kill him. He's easy past the first 8 minutes, at least until mid game.
Jarvan IV
Well timed Alpha's completely cuck this guys combos. His ult is kinda useless against you and his knock-up shouldn't really be hitting you, then you can just W his damage away.
Graves
Graves is full damage and his clear isn't good enough to reliably invade you. When it gets to late game he should be easy.
Elise
Annoying when counter ganking but at the end of the day she's just a spider to squish.
Evelynn
**** me. Not even the hardest matchup just so annoying
Kha'Zix
The hardest part of versing Kha'Zix is getting your team to stop giving him free kills. If your team is responsive to when he shows early, you can win the game. If not, he'll be able to one shot everyone.
Kindred
AHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Yi's clear speed is too good for her to ever stack and she can die in 2 hits.
Lee Sin
Depends on the Lee Sin. I actually respect this champion.
Nocturne
You don't see this guy in many games, and even when you do, you don't. (Yes, that was a joke about his ult and power farming stfu)
Nunu & Willump
Another annoying champion. Fortunately, Blade can shred him well enough to counter out his slows and armor.
Olaf
Olaf is known for been on of the strongest duelists, especially for a tank. Yi is stronger. You perfectly counter him. Can 1v1 him, can be immune to slows at level 6, his ult is useless, meditate for e.
Pantheon
Same old Panth. He's more of a top laner these days but watch out for him in jungle, he can probably kill you if you run into him.
Rammus
Rammus is meant to destroy you in every manner. He is probably going to succeed.
Rek'Sai
Honestly Rek'Sai can't do much against you, the only thing you have to do is counter gank him and she'll get behind.
Rengar
This champ is so useless I feel bad for mains right now. No reason to pick him. Can invade you early I guess but you can probably 1v1 him if you have red. Late game it's over.
Maokai
This match-up is very much dependent on the game. If you land well timed Alphas you can shred him but his CC is really really strong right now.
Nidalee
Too squishy to pose a serious threat early, too glass-cannon to pose a serious threat late. Just time Highlander right and she should be easy for you.
Skarner
skarner
Teemo
no
Udyr
Depends on the Udyr player. Udyr is kinda garbage in the meta right now but he is still a really good chaser.
Vi
50-50. Hey Q is such an easy dodge with Alpha, but her ganks are really strong and really fast.
Volibear
Same as Udyr but slightly harder. Can be annoying mid game.
Wukong
Don't know many jungle Wukongs but just try to win top side hard, 3v3s bot are generally a bad idea until you're farmed up.
Xin Zhao
It's all about whether or not your team can kill him or whether you get ulted and memed.
Zac
Not the funnest time but you can pull a win if you are good.
Amumu
Last and least cause he has no friends :( we have Amumu. Overall, easy to shred but his CC is a *****.
If you want to solo Baron by a maximum of 25 minutes and obliterate entire teams whether they are tanky or squishy, the classic Cowsep and carry build is for you. Keep in mind I am not claiming to be a jungle god, but you can't really go wrong with this build. BTW, I have done a blurb for every jungler in the game. You can beat 90% of them if you were to play perfectly, but some of these guys can be really tough. Project Yi skin recommended.
Pros / Cons
Pros / Cons
Pros:
Really good for shredding tanks, and can also 3 shot squishies if you are stacked up.
Can solo Baron reliably at the 23-25 minute mark depending on the game.
Can easily split push and shred turrets if you need to.
This is Cowsep's go to build when he isn't playing Crit Yi. (which is kinda ballsy)
Best teamfighting build out there for Yi when you utilize it correctly.
Can be quite tanky late game.
Does high magic, physical, true and max health damage.
Cons:
Doesn't have much lifesteal.
Has slower kill times than the Crit build.
Can be shut down really easily by CC as you need to stack up Guinsoo's to get full effect.
Extremely expensive build, so if your games are short then probably don't build these items.
Slow to hit power spike compared to other builds.
Because of commitment to three really expensive items, you can't really fit in that QSS or hexdrinker till after even if you need them.

I'm not going to make a full Master Yi written guide as the point of this guide is the build. This is my first guide and I hope to make more in the future! Please upvote if you fine this helpful and please comment and downvote if you have any criticism. Thanks.
