One thing I must say before you vote. Keep this in mind. This Soraka build is for people like me, who like to fight and deal a lot of damage while still supporting your team.

This build makes her tanky, so it's harder to focus you. It gives her a lot of Magic Pen, so you can deal heavy damage. Also, it gives her a lot of Ability Power to support your team and still deliver heavy damage. Her crowd control becomes insane with Rylai's Crystal Scepter added to your arsenal.

This Soraka is built to get close and personal. All her items go well together. Especially after you complete the Archangel's Staff.

Remember, don't initiate the fight but don't stay far back after it becomes initiated.

Pros:

-Quite Tanky
-A lot of Ability Power
-Good crowd control
-Massive Heals
-Early-Late game sustainability

Cons:

-Entering fights too soon will get you focused
-You are still soft early game
-You may get told you are support and not to farm or get kills. Ignore it
-The build is expensive. Make sure you last hit many minions with auto-attack, Q and E last hits
-Easy for a beginner to miscalculate last hits with Q
-Pretty slow movement speeds compared to other champs

For this build you will be going for:

9 Greater Mark of Magic Penetration - Increased Magic Pen, hence more damage.
4 Greater Seal of Armor - Ability to take more damage early game.
5 Greater Seal of defense - Ability to take more damage later game.
4 Greater Glyph of Magic Resist - Ability to take more damage early game.
5 Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - Ability to take more damage later game.
3 Greater Quintessence of Magic Penetration - Increased Magic Pen, hence more damage.

3 Greater Quintessence of Ability Power - Increased Ability Power. Recommended if you prefer to buy Doran's Ring first.
