Luden's Build Item-Specific Info

Mejais: A very strong purchase as you gain movement speed at 10 stacks. If you play smart there is a very low risk of you dying and losing said stacks. That said, if you are dying multiple times and have no stacks, maybe skip this purchase; it is not required. Replace Mejai's with a Deathcap if you lose your stacks.

Horizon Focus: This item is poggers. I build this most games regardless of how they are going. It gives you a crazy power spike and is cheaper than Deathcap. Hextech Alternator is also a handy component to have during early/mid game.

Deathcap: This item is extremely expensive and offers almost nothing, just AP. ONLY build this if you are finished with core, extremely ahead, and the enemy team is comprised of mostly squishy (easy-to-kill; low max HP) champions. Replace Mejai's with a Deathcap if you lose your stacks.

Void Staff: If the enemy team's strongest members are building ANY Magic Resistance, this item is a must-have. % Magic Penetration will always take effect before flat Magic Penetration, leading to devastating damage output against bruisers, assassins, marksmans, and mages whom are building any Magic Resistance. Killing a Tank will always be a team effort. Do not aim to one-shot them unless you are many levels and money bags ahead of them.

Chemtech Putrifier: Do not build Morellonomicon UNLESS you desperately need the health (you are a suck noob). Chemtech is extremely powerful on lux; her W shield can and will give 60% Grievous wounds to every allied champion that it hits and shields; including herself (if it hits an ally ofc). Chemtech is cheaper than Morello and gives ability haste AND mana regen. PLEASE BUILD THIS IF YOU NEED GRIEVOUS WOUNDS. MORELLO IS A WASTE !!!!

Zhonya's & Banshee's: Try to stay away from these items. They do not offer any bonus damage or effects and will only slow down your damage. Understand that in some games they ARE required due to champions such as Zed and Ashe, but please focus on positioning instead of buying these low-damage items to make up for it. It is okay to build these before your core if you really need one of them, usually Zhonya's.

Cosmic Drive: Not much to say about this item. Stay away from this unless you desperately need more Ability Haste or move speed. It contributes almost nothing to lux's already low cooldowns and one-shot rotation based kit.

Feel free to experiment with other items that are not listed here, but stay within items that give AP and build them only after you finish your core build.
Liandry's Build Item-Specific Info

Lucidity Boots: Sorc shoes are OKAY, but lucidity boots will allow you to spam those spells, and refresh that Liandry's burn and Chemtech Grievous Wounds effect. We are looking to stack ability haste and utility with this build path.

Mejai's: A very strong purchase as you gain movement speed at 10 stacks. If you play smart there is a very low risk of you dying and losing said stacks. That said, if you are dying multiple times and have no stacks, maybe skip this purchase; it is not required. Replace Mejai's with a Deathcap or another item if you lose your stacks.

Chemtech + Liandry's: This item combo is extremely deadly to tanks and healing comps. We are focused on spamming those spells, shielding our allies for Grievous Wounds procs, and spamming multiple ults in a team fight.

Cosmic Drive: this item is very useful for this build path as it allows more ability spam, and gives you some of the move speed that you lose from not going Luden's. Our goal is to maximize our item passives, and Cosmic Drive helps us do this perfectly. Ideally built after Chemtech, if no other items are needed.

Demonic Embrace: Decent item, adds more burn. Would only recommend if your opponents are too tanky even after building a void staff.

Zhonya's / Banshee's: Unlike in the Luden's build, these items are OK in this build, since you are focused on team play rather than staying far out of sight looking for one-shot plays. Build either of them if needed. Can be built before finishing Core.

Deathcap / Horizon Focus: Build these if you were mistaken and now are needed to go more damage than utility. Prioritize Horizon focus out of the two. Deathcap is viable normally as a finally purchase, though, since it will amplify the damage on your liandry's burn effect and your overall dps.

Staff / Censor / Support items: Build these if you are getting carried hard and only need to buff up your teammates whom are having a much better game than you are. I rarely ever find the need to do this, but it is OK to do. Build these after your core if this is the case.
