Champion Build Guide
Introduction
Hi Guys! My name is Strider and I am a Kayle main on the NA and EUW servers. I mained Kayle pre-rework and played her a lot afterwards as well. I since found more enjoyment playing Master Yi but I still achieved over 1 million mastery points on Kayle which is more than any other champ I have mained before. I also feel that my guide shows you better builds and better runes to run than other guides on this website. I hope you will give them a try, I guarantee you will find success with them as long as you play smart.
This guide and the explanations that follow will primarily focus on AD/On-Hit Kayle as I believe that is the superior way to play her. The AD version doesnt scale as hard as the AP version but you will powerspike earlier into the game which is what you want. With the changes Riot made to the game at the start of Season 10 League has become more and more early game based. Games times are the shortest they have ever been so we dont have 30 mins to reach the godlike power levels of AP kayle, we need to spike as soon as we can so we can have impact on the game.

Pros and Cons of Kayle
+ Scales insanely well into the late game + Good teamfighting ability with Divine Judgment. + Poke in Lane. + Good sustain in lane with Celestial Blessing. |
- Takes a while to scale. - Can be punished early by literally any champ who is being played by a player with at least half a brain. - Has to rely on teammates not to int early game so you can get to a point where you can actually fight. - Squishy |
Skill Order - Explanation
#1.
Starfire Spellblade 2 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 #2. Radiant Blast 1 / 4 / 5 / 12 / 13 #3. Divine Judgement 6/ 11 / 16 #4. Celestial Blessing 3 / 14 / 15 / 17 / 18 |
I know what you're thinking, this skill order looks weird right? Because I'm putting 3 points in Radiant Blast then going on to actually max Starfire Spellblade first? There is good reason to this. Pre-6 Kayle has to rely on Radiant Blast and Starfire Spellblade for cs'ing, the better of these two skills is Radiant Blast as it can hit multiple minions as well as poking the enemy laner and refunds mana if you land it. Since before level 6 we are not ranged Radiant Blast will be a primary way of getting through the early laning phase. After level 6 we can safely cs with the range we have been granted from Divine Ascent. Since we are opting for an on-hit build it makes more sense to then start putting points into Starfire Spellblade as each time we level up this skill we get more on-hit damage from the passive of this ability. This damage will then feed into our Guinsoo's Rageblade, giving us more damage. |

For your Rune Shards the first two are always going to remain unchanged. You always want and as they provide you with essential stats to get through the laning phase. The third rune shard is the one that will be require frequent adjustment. You want to take either or depending on who the enemy mid laner is. The majority of top laners are physical damage dealers so you will be taking most of the time, but when against Teemo for example switch it to . |
Core Items
Blade of the Ruined King, Berserker's Greaves and Guinsoo's Rageblade are going to be the three core items you will be building every single game. Blade of the Ruined King provides you with crucial attack damage, attack speed, life steal as well as an awesome on-hit passive. This on-hit damage will be then be amplified by Guinsoo's Rageblade, they have incredibly good synergy together thats why you see a lot of other champs build these two items. |
