His heavy engage combined with high burst damage is extremely difficult to deal with early game, and his ability to poke away your bubbles (particularly crown) with his long-ranged Q can be very detrimental.

Renata wants their ADC to go all in, sustaining themselves off your W and being able to capitalise the opportunities provided by your CC. In my opinion, no ADC can do this better than Samira - particularly with both Renata's W and Samira's whole kit wanting multi-kills.

What is the Bubble Build?

The Bubble Build is a build to try and counter a big weakness I've found when playing Renata: her vulnerability to burst. Renata is a very immobile champion, and even when built as a more tanky support with Locket or Evenshroud, can still be pinned down killed with burst damage with relative ease. Crown of the Shattered Queen mitigates this issue as much as possible, allowing you to survive almost any burst damage due to the heavy damage reduction, giving you time for allies to arrive, or for you to escape or fight back. Ideally you'll be on the fringes of teamfights, using the high AP boost from Crown to maximise the effectiveness of your abilities and provide good support to your whole team. However, if you do get jumped on or targeted, Crown provides you with enough survivability to use your Q to get champions away from you and/or closer to your allies, or to use your W to survive long enough to kill the oft-squishy damage dealer who's attacking you.

Why it works.

This build gives you an overall good set of utility, offense, and defensive stats in the form of: AP, health, armour and magic resist, mana, ability haste, and even movement speed. The utility stats like mana and ability haste allow you to cast more abilities and provide more opportunities for your team, while the defensive stats like health, armour and magic resist give you the survivability to continue providing these opportunities. Overall, an alive Renata is the best kind, and this build helps you do that without losing out on what makes Renata great.

Why it doesn't.

This build isn't particularly focussed on any one thing such as her CC, her heal and shield power, or damage. While the build aims to make up or this by giving her enough survivability to use these parts of her kit more, it suffers from being a "jack of all trades, master of none". While you will generally be able to output good CC, healing and shielding, and damage, this build will generally never excell in any one of these categories. Moreover, this build requires an understanding that, while posessing survivability, you are neither a tank nor any kind of front liner. Your role is purely as a support for people in these other roles, and this build merely allows you to survive enough to help them, but not be them.
