Introduction

Fiddlesticks is one of the funniest champs to play in league specially when you have surprise party skin There is no bigger satisfaction than tilting your enemies to death. You literally have no skillshots at all, that's allows your brain to think in some other stuff, like, enemy cooldowns, pay attention to minimap, or simply use your time to communicate your team mates the next objective or when you will go in with R.

I will explain you every small detail behind each specific rune/skill/item/decision you need to make so you can understand in depth why playing this champion became stronger this 8th season.

Runes

Primary: Inspiration

Unsealed Spellbook:

You want to have Exhaust/ Flash up asap, this will enable you to all in anyone on the enemy team with no fear of death. most of the times they will Flash out, you will follow up with yours and get the kill, but guess what, your Flash will be back in 3 min, which gives you a 2 min window to abuse.

Perfect Timing:

Free zhonyas early game, bait under tower, or dive enemy when you hit lvl 6, that's a huge power spike early in the game, the 15% cdr on zhonyas is also sexy af.

Magical Footwear:

You don't really need the boots too early, unless a specific matchup makes you to (avoiding Blitzcrank or Thresh hook for example) the extra mobility will help you stick to target while having Crowstorm active, and this will save 350 gold in the long run, that's insane as a low income player.

Cosmic Insight:

MORE MORE MORE CDR! this is a must, more summoner spells, more Zhonya's Hourglass, more trinkets, more everything, this is just too good on Fiddlesticks

Secondary: Sorcery

The Ultimate Hat:

Crowstorm is main fiddlesticks threat, it has a super long cd, so you will benefit a lot from it, the first time you cast R in the game, you will have around 14% cdr on that R already, (5% from Cosmic Insight, 5% from Ancient Coin and 5%(multiplicative) from The Ultimate Hat ) which means second Crowstorm of the game will come 21 seconds sooner, that's a lot, trust me.

Transcendence:

Cap CDR asap, the extra AP if you over cap is good, but, this is not the main reason we take this. Caping 45% cdr on QWE and the glorious 51% on Crowstorm will enable you to be a constant threat in the map. Being able to spam Terrify to deny the enemy initiator on the teamfight, or an assasin trying to kill your carries, it is just too good to have caped CDR on Fiddlesticks.

Laning Phase

LVL 1 - LVL 2

First, you need to visualize if you will be able to hit level 2 first or at the same time than the enemy, this is very important if you will go level 2 before the enemy, you can definitely start with Bountiful Harvest this skill will let you bait the enemies cooldowns, waste their mana and you can simply heal up to mitigate the damage (also, you could miss position a little on purpose in order to take the poke, since you can't heal your adc, make them waste it on you)

If you're certainly sure, that the enemy will try to rush a level 2 to all in you (for example, Lucian + Braum or Lucian + Leona which will pretty much secure a kill with LVL 2 power spike, then you need to start with Terrify do not over extend, do not recieve any free poke/damage, just wait for your LVL 2, if they all in you, you're pretty much death, you should stay behind out of reach, if they all in your adc, you will Terrify the main threat on that very moment and peel your adc.

At LVL 2 simply get the skill you didn't get before, you should always have QW available at level 2.

LVL 2 - LVL 5

This won't be your typical AP support laning phase where you yous poke or all in the enemy with a full rotation, it is all about timing. You will take Reap at level 3, but you won't be using it to poke, you will use it mainly to disengage, when you see someone gets near to you or your adc, immediately Reap him, this is your longest range ability, the silence will give you enough time to get near the enemy and Terrify him before the silence ends, you will Bountiful Harvest and 1 of 2 possible escenarios will happen.

1: the enemy walks away trying to avoid drain range, this means you win the trade, you make damage with no return.

2: the enemy stays in range and makes a full rotation, this is a win too, since you will probably heal 50% damage you received, enemy has no cooldowns, and he took the whole Bountiful Harvest which hurts a lot early game.

LVL 4 and 5 skill points will go to Terrify this will enable you to disengage easier, make Bountiful Harvest window longer and the most important part, now you can cast Crowstorm to the face of the enemy if needed. You simply fear them and press R right in front of them.

LVL 6

This is your time to shine, you need to coordinate with your adc and/or jungler to maximize your Crowstorm damage, since you took Perfect Timing most of the times you will already have your Stopwatch ready to use at this point of the game. You can either bait a turret dive to your ADC, faking a back to base or just hiding on the bushes) or, you could also dive the enemies with your free zhonyas. be creative, you will at least get 3/4 summoner spells in return. maybe 1/2 kills, and the turret.

if there is definitely no way to take advantage of this power spike in the bot lane, you can definitely roam to mid lane and dive him, he will 80% not expect you to dive with your combo. Besides, most of the times they will get tilted and lets be honest, tilted players make bad decisions.

LVL 6 - LVL 10

Next 2 skill points will go towards Bountiful Harvest with this you can easily tank dragon, herald, steal enemy jungle and deep ward because you will be able to heal back if enemy pokes you while you deny vision. LVL 9 and 10 will go to Terrify to max it out, this is your primary peel tool, point blank and practically no cast time.

Item explanation

This is the best support item in this build, I know that Spellthief's Edge may be tempting, but, this is not a poke oriented build, spaming Reap to poke is strong, but it will also push the wave, exposing you to ganks, and potentially stealing minions, which means, death time to accumulate gold procs. Ancient Coin gives you passive gold, and that sweet sweet 5% CDR, since Frostfang lost the 10% cdr, it is no longer attractive for me either on the mid game. Fortunately, Nomad's Medallion does give you 10% CDR.

Besides the fact that this item is pretty much a must on any support, you definitely need this, knowledge is power, and you must know where the enemy is in order to abuse the full potential of your Crowstorm from fog of war.

Even more vision and, tons of HP and that sleeper OP 20% CDR on active items. This will benefit your Zhonya's Hourglass, talisman of ascension and your Oracle Lens Vision control is the key to success, and you can achieve it with this combo.

You want to be the play maker, your flash is one of your strongest tools, combined with Unsealed Spellbook and Cosmic Insight you will get 40% CDR on your summoner spells.

talisman of ascension
Great item on Fiddlesticks you could either use the active defensively to avoid a gank/ambush, or aggressively, to stick to the enemies after using Crowstorm or even just getting in the teamfight sooner while roaming. The passive movement speed between towers feels too good, having the capability to pressure the whole map super fast.

This will be your 5th, the slow will totally destroy the teamfight during Crowstorm, your Terrify will be the tiltier skill in the whole game, losing control of your champion while being slow af just feels terrible. and applying a slow with your long range Reap to make a pick or peel. this is just too good!
