Threats & Synergies
I would not suggest counter ganking camille as her e just will stop you in your paths completely. You do win against her 1v1 mid game one you have your core and providing your R is available.
Not even a challenge, she is weak pre 6, so take advantage of that and make her jungle YOUR jungle!
Another champion you can take advantage of early, she has very weak clears and mana issues, she will 99% of the time start blue, so invade her red side and make her bow to the troll king.
Eve is a bit of a pain once game reaches mid, take advantage of her weak early and punish her for being visable by mirroring her jungle path + countergank her... hard.
Has no real mobility, however, has an annoying Q. Against fiddle i like to invade and try to mess with him as much as possible. He's another champ that will 99% of the time start blue, try to take your opposing buff and take his red before he gets there.
One of the hardest matchups you can face, he outdamages you at nearly every point in the game. Try to take prio on scuttles so you can keep vision on him at all times.
Fairly easy matchup, try to pilar his E when he gets the movement boost + you will win the 1v1.
You should try to counter gank j4 as much as possible. Try to E his flag + drag and you will counteract ALOT of his burst damage through electrocute.
Now, Jax is a tricky champ in general not just in the jungle. His E makes dueling extremely difficult, however if he jumps on you, try to use your W + E to kite him until his E has expired, then show him the way of the club.
Kayn is not a threat to you until he gets his transformation, that's when he gets the burst damage, take advantage of his weak duelling early. Invade him and if he tries to get away with his shadow walk, E him and throw him right back to you!
VERY high burst damage, keep jungle warded as much as you can, and interrupt his jump with your E.
Luckily you won't see Kindred very often due to the meta. but, Kindred is an absolute nightmare for Trundle. She kites you amazingly well + because of that wins almost every 1v1. Try to catch her with a laner at one of your camps which is marked. You need your team for this one!
Lee sin is a very questionable matchup, most people suggest staying away from him early because of his high duelling potential. However, I say meet him at your scuttle lvl 2 and duel him. Dont underestimate PTA!
Ahhhh master yi...Does A LOT of damage. Especially with Conqueror. Try to E him after he's Alpha Striked you. pop your ulti and hope for the best. Try to not let a Yi reach late.. Tabi's really are a saving grace against this.
Dodge spear and you will be absolutely fine. Nida is a slow camp clearer, invade and take advantage of that and get her a bit behind so she cant snowball.
Nocturne is SUCH a level 6 based champion, until then he's almost rendered useless. Invade him early and show him who the troll king is.
Nunu & Willump
Nunu can be extremely frustrating to play against. He's the counter jungling king. whichever buff you are starting, ask your laners to ward the other, if he does invade, go take his buff. try to stay even with him, and if you meet him in the jungle you easily beat him 1v1.
I often compare Olaf to Trundle, they both play in similar ways to me, great slow, great chase and almost unstoppable when ahead. Try to mirror him and counter gank pre 6 as he doesent have R to escape your slow.
Rammus is a odd one. if he gets ahead and duels you.. you just kill yourself on him, if you get ahead, you steal his protection with your R and make him your... you know. Skill matchup.
Dont let him get ahead and you're fine. Like nocturne he's a weak ganker until 6. and has poor camp clear times. Against rengar i like to spend most of my time focusing on counter jungling rather than ganking to get him as behind as possible. Because a fed rengar is like playing a horror game.
I dont see any scenario in which you lose a jungle matchup to Sejuani as Trundle. You absolutely stomp her 1v1.
My most hated champion.. such an annoyance to play against. This goes for any jungler not just trundle. ALWAYS keep your jungle as warded as possible, and focus on scuttle crabs as number one priority. Shaco's counter is.. Vision.
Shyvanna is a heavily based objective jungler, she will most likely go for the early dragon cheese, so make sure around the 5 minute mark to stay around bot side and kill her while she's low doing it, and take the dragon for yourself!
Not a very meta jungler, however alot of boosters like to abuse twitch jungle by starting red and ganking level 2. Mirror him. If twitch is red side he will gank top level 2, and if he's blue side he will gank mid / bot level 2, make sure to counter his gank so he doesent get stupidly out of control.
Udyr beats you 1v1 pre-6, however once games reaches mid / late game you absolutely wreck him.
Vi the bruiser / tank shredder. Her W w ith tri force is a force to be reckoned with. She's a hard champ to catch because of her Q, but not if you land a good pillar!
His engage is countered completely by your E. If he tries to duel you, just tap that R button and watch all of his defensives transfer over to yourself. Volibear is by far trundles easiest matchup.
Warwick is THAT jungler, he's good all round, and is a very safe pick. like shyvanna warwick can early cheese drake, try to keep drake warded around the 5-6 minute mark and meet him there if he decides to go for it. make use of your pre 6 dueling capability, as he's a monster with his ultimate.
For me personally, Xin Zhao is the hardest matchup for Trundle. He's easily the best early game dueler at the moment along with udyr, avoid all fights with him unless your team is there to back you up. HOWEVER. You do get your one ban, and without fail i ban Xin Zhao every game. Suggested to do the same.
Zac cant beat you 1v1, but is a very effective jungler at getting his laners ahead. try to counter jungle as much as possible against him, and interupt his jump with your pillar. looks hilarious too.
Press R, steal all of the defences he owns and makes him cry even more.
Easily beatable in a 1v1, just avoid standing next to walls so she doesn't get that free stun, easily counter jungled
ANNOYING. And can kite you very well. However unlike lane in the jungle its narrow. Pillar an exit and watch the little runt squirm as you beat him down. (Yes, i hate teemo.)
Low game account, currently Mad ID account.
Hi! I'm Mad ID, also known as Matt or Diezol and with alot of help from friends, im finally making this Trundle guide. I've previously reached Diamond I with only a few champions, the main one being Trundle with a 60% winrate in 200 games.
In this guide i will try my best to show you how effective you really can be with Trundle. On the outside he seems like a very basic champion with a simplistic kit, but if you utilize that kit to its maximum efficiency, you can become the outplay king and make your enemies tear their hair out trying to deal with you.
In my opinion Trundle is also a very safe first pick / blind pick. There's only a few champions that Trundle really struggles with. But, most of them are out of meta. Nevertheless, I'll cover every matchup you should face against.
I hope this guide is helpful to you in some way. Just an FYI - I'd love as much feedback as possible or even general questions about jungling / trundle i'd be more than happy to answer! just drop a message in the comments, dm me on Twitter or join my Discord server and I'll gladly answer any questions you have, or just come by when I'm streaming in Twitch.Tv and come say hi!

P R O S
+ Fast camp times with Frozen Domain|
+ Basic kit to pick up + learn
+ Incredible 1v1 Dueller
+ Good at all stages of game
+ Many different build paths
+ Doesent struggle against most meta junglers
- Gets kited hard by ranged junglers, hi Graves!|
- Quite weak without R
- Minimal CC
- Gets destroyed by burst champs
Trundle is a fantastic pick in the current jungling meta since he can hold his own in duels against most meta champions, and can counter jungle them hard. For example; Shyvana, Kayn, Kha'Zix, Camille.|
He adds tons of pressure into the game. He isn't mechanically challenging, however, he rewards you for matchups and game knowledge.
He is great at all stages of the game + team fights after 6 due to Subjugate defencive stealing + his great single target sustain.
He can build many different items and play in different ways, like going for Titanic Hydra and Sterak's Gage for more damage or going for a more utility focused build to help the team out with Banner of Command and Zeke's Convergence.
Trundle is also very good at capitalising enemy's mistakes as shown in the clip below.
The downside of playing Trundle, is that he gets shut down very easily by certain champions! such as Master Yi, Xin Zhao, Vi, Kindred, Graves So try not to pick trundle blind, but he's still an amazing pick!|
He also gets negated heavily by CC. So its recommended not to be picked into team comps that have much CC or else he won't be very useful.
Trundle is also very easy to kite specially with champions that have some sort of slow or speed buff, such as Kindred.
Should you blind pick Trundle? MAYBE. But if you really want to play Trundle and you don't mind what champion you are up against, go ahead.
Trundle should be picked into matchups such as:
- Most non-meta tanks as you can make all of their defensive stats become yours, making them helpless. Champions such as Maokai, Rammus, Amumu.
- Bruisers/Fighters that have a poor early game 1v1 such as Jarvan IV, Lee Sin, Camille.
- Champions that need their dashes for trading (They can go in but Trundle wins in extended fights against them), such as Nidalee, Wukong, Hecarim.
This section not only describes Trundle's abilities but also goes in a bit more in-depth to help you master them mechanically.
King's Tribute (Passive)
EFFECT RADIUS: 1400
TARGET COOLDOWN: NaN
Whenever an enemy dies near Trundle, he heals for 2/3/4/5/6% of their maximum health.
This passive makes Trundle a very healthy champion, since he can gain lots of health back from kills / jungle camps. (Even more life back after kills with passive + triumph!)
COST: 30 mana
BONUS AD: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40
Trundle's next basic attack deals bonus damage and slows his target by 75%. After biting his target Trundle gains bonus attack damage for 8 seconds.
Trundle's Q also reduces his target's attack damage by half that ammount for the same duration.
This is Trundle's most damaging tool. It has a decent AD scaling, at early levels it shreds through any enemy
Be careful when using this ability, you dont want to engage and use your Q straight away, the main thing which makes your Q a great ability is that it's an AA Reset, so make sure to use it that way!
Frozen Domain (W)
TARGET RANGE: 900
EFFECT RADIUS: 1000
COST: 60 mana
Trundle coats the target area in ice for 8 seconds. While inside, he gains bonus attack speed
This ability helps for Trundle to catch up to enemy champions. or the most useful way is to place it under yourself when dueling to get that extra attack speed + 25% health restoration from ALL sources.
Pillar of Ice (E)
TARGET RANGE: 1000
COST: 75 mana
COOLDOWN: 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 / 14
SLOW: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50
Trundle projects a pillar of ice at the target location for 6 seconds, knocking back everyone directly over it 225 units on cast.
This is Singed's primary ability for pure... annoyance along with his Subjugate. It allows him to displace the enemy, preventing them from either getting away or even basing, it can be used to trap enemies in too. NO ESCAPE! Trundle more.
A special mechanic to do with Pillar of Ice is to use it when a champion is about to jump. For example Tristana's rocket jump, you can interuppt her by casting your E at the right time.
Enemies can also be pillared over certain terrains. It only works through thin enough terrains, and you need to be positioned next to the wall and aim the Pillar of Ice underneath them on the other side, and pop. they're next to you!
Pillar of Frost is a great tool for catching out enemies. Be careful when using it though, as if they flash over your pillar to escape, you could get unit blocked by your own pillar. So try to track enemies flashes!!
Pillar of Frost can be used to cancel jumps / dashes if timed properly, such as Rocket Jump and 90 Caliber Net
COST: 100 mana
COOLDOWN: 110 / 90 / 70
TARGET RANGE: 700
MAGIC DPS: 2.5 / 3.4 / 4.4 (+0.25% per 100AP) of the targets maximum health
Trundle drains the life force out of the target champion dealing magic damage each second for 4 seconds, healing trundle for 40$ of their armor + magic resistance. Half of the damage and stealing is applied instantly.
This ability is one of Trundle's best powerspikes, if not his strongest one. It gives him all in potential at level 6 due to the great increase in stats he gets, it also lets him duel almost any champion at level 6 because of the raw power it gives him, but he also depends a lot on it for team fighting since this is what makes him so tanky during team fights.
Try to play around your ultimate, only looking for 1v1 fights when you're Subjugate is up (unless you can easily win without it).

|Gank effectively with Trundle|
Ganks are very straightforward on Trundle. He's a very easy champ to learn how to gank on once you've learnt the range of your pillar. As trundle you want to be focusing on the most immobile lane you can, and try to stick on it.
Lets say the enemy team has a Camille top lane + a Orianna mid lane. As Trundle you're going to want to focus that orianna mid lane as your priority rather than the Camille
Now yes, you can outplay the Camille by dropping your Pillar of Ice where she's going to grapple, but why waste the MAYBE oppertunity, when its most likely you will get the kill on the midlane, silly things like theese decisions can decide a teammates lane for them.
And my biggest advice is to LEARN MATCHUPS . If you know which lanes have priorty over others you can focus them to get them even more ahead than they should be!
