Introduction

Hello my name is Kamixxae and I am an Aatrox main and have mastery level 7 Aatrox on 2 of my accounts. I started playing Aatrox a week after his rework hit the live server and I want to share the things I have learned in that time with you in a short but detailed guide.

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ Excellent laner
+ Great early game
+ Easy to farm with
+ Infinite skill cap :)
+ 1 v 2 potential

Cons

- Bad late game
- Easily outplayed
- Lot of counters

Runes

Domination primary does the most damage.
Sorcery is easy to proc and does less damage.
Glacial augment is good to help hit qs.
Conqueror is bad because it lowers the healing you get from your e because your e gives you healing based on the physical damage you deal.
PTA is also bad because you won't be auto attacking most of the time.

Spells

My preferred Summoner spells are flash and ignite but you can go flash teleport or even flash ghost. I don't recommend teleport in lower elos because most people don't put a ward down at the start of a fight so you can teleport there. And ghost makes your kill potential so much lower but you can chase down your opponent easier.

Skill Sequence

I always max q first unless I need the mobility, then I take 3 points into e.

Combos

Your basic all in combo is you w q then walk towards the enemy then q e then q e and lastly aa to proc your passive. Just make sure to time your third q to hit the enemy when he is pulled back by your w. And you can ult anywhere you want in there.

Poke combo: q e aa w q and e away this combo will proc your electrocute.

Gameplay

Early game you should harass the enemy laner and look for an opportunity to all in because if you don't get a kill in lane your opponent will almost always outscale you.
Mid game Try and look for opportunities around the map if you have teleport but if you don't you should just splitpush until your team starts grouping.
Late game focus on staying with the team because your late game is quite weak compared to other top laners such as Darius or Vladimir. In the late game if you are fed you can just push and no one can stop you. If you have teleport you should continue split pushing
