Graves's kit is pretty insane into Rengar. The free armor he gets from E as well as the blind that he can just drop in a bush and make you lose both eyes instead of just one, he's going to outdamage you if he's a good graves. Regardless though, play around his blind and dance around his Q and you should win skirmishes.
Vi
Vi has a lot to shut you down with. She can knock you out of bushes, point and click stun you, and become tanky as all **** so you can't touch her without being obliterated. Your best bet is getting 4 stacks and cleansing her R with your W, but even then it's a tossup. Handle with care.
Amumu
Amumu, assuming you're running Conqueror, isn't much of an issue at all. He can root you and R you but assuming this isn't a game winning teamfight or you're not trying to 1v3, neither of these abilities will be enough for him to take you down. You'll outdo him at most, if not all, points of the game.
Dr. Mundo
Mundo is pretty scary into Rengar, but only late. Ensure he doesn't get too much of a lead and rush Warmog's to run you down with, rush executioner's, be sure you build that into mortal reminder, and you should be fine. If he gets a lead though, he will eventually be unkillable regardless of grievous wounds.
Ekko
Ekko is pretty easy to play into. His kit is hard countered by you as if he stuns you and procs his passive on you, you can double W the damage away and he essentially just healed you. Don't give him a lead and it's an easy W.
Elise
Elise is a bit of a tossup, as her kit allows her to burst you down all while stunning you and having an ability to make her untargetable AND allowing her to get away. You'll win 1v1's, but most of the time she can draw out a fight with you long enough for one of her teammates to rotate and finish you. Avoid fighting unless you see everyone on the map.
Evelynn
Evelynn gets pretty demolished by Rengar early, as her damage is nothing compared to yours. If your teammates have priority in their lanes, be all up in her **** 24/7 to ensure you put her as far behind as possible while getting yourself 100 times as ahead.
Fiddlesticks
I won't even bother explaining to you why this champion is child's play. Pre-rework was so much better.
Hecarim
Hecarim can be everywhere, which is most of the time your kryptonite while you gank. His movement speed while in his E ensures that even if it looks like a winning fight, he'll R out of fog of war and end your life. Granted, he can't 1v1 you, but that's not what a Hecarim is going to look to do. Handle with care.
Karthus
This champion, although weak early, can become a bit of a problem late game after he builds Zhonyas and gets a little bit of AP, as with one button press he can ensure that your entire team has 2/3s HP disadvantage in fights. He's pretty easy to handle if put behind though.
Kha'Zix
Kha'Zix has a lot in his kit to beat Rengar with. His combo is a lot easier to pull off, he has instant invis twice or even three times, and a point and click leap. This, however, shouldn't be a driving factor for you losing a 1v1 against him. Hold onto your W for his initial combo and you'll outdamage him if you dance around his damage with your W. Handle with care. DO NOT LET HIM WIN THE HUNT IS ON.
Kayn
Kayn simply doesn't do enough damage fast enough for Rengar to have an issue with. Unless you're 0/20, you shouldn't have much of an issue of dealing with him regardless of Red or Blue.
Kindred
Kindred is simply an annoying champion. She makes everyone in an AOE invulnerable, ensuring she can make either herself or her teammates survive your initial combo. 1v1 though, she's absolutely nothing to you.
Lee Sin
Lee is a very annoying champion simply because of his R and W. His R serves as a free "getthe****offme" and his W serves as a free "getthe****away." Until he gets tanky though, you should win 1v1s by holding your W until he Q's. Handle with care.
Malphite
This champion is a permanent April Fool's joke injected into the Riot Games title League of Legends by complete accident. There is absolutely no way someone who is not in a mental ward thinks it is okay for a champion to build full AP with an AOE knockup that scales from said full AP to also then be unkillable. Handle with care.
Master Yi
The biggest issue with fighting a Yi is the fact that most of them will start off a fight thinking they can win it, then W once they realize they're being outdamaged, and spam ping one of their laners to come help them. He shouldn't be much of an issue unless he gets ahead, at which point, just hope you can oneshot him before he can W.
Nidalee
As long as you dodge her Q, and maybe even if you get hit by it, this champion has no chance of winning a 1v1 against you. You're simply too powerful with your W for her to be able to deal with.
Nocturne
This champion will ALWAYS win a 1v1 against you because of his fear. Your only hope is holding onto your second W to cleanse it, but even then, he has a lot in his kit to completely deny you, while most Nocturnes will also run Lethal Tempo and melt you all the while. Handle with care.
Nunu & Willump
Nunu is more of a gank heavy objective based champion than anything else. They'll never look to 1v1 you, but they'll always look to countergank or solo a drake. Always have rift or drag warded and spam ping when you have the slightest suspicion they might be at either.
Olaf
Olaf is cancer. You know why.
Rammus
Rammus's very being counters you. His innate armor as well as taunt as well as free thornmail as well as AOE damage as well as gap closing as well as-
you get the picture. I ban Rammus most of my games.
Rek'Sai
Rek'Sai is a champion you will have to start banning once you start climbing. A good Rek'Sai will know exactly what to do against you, which is simply knocking you up and weaving Q's in until he ultimately R's you, winning a 1v1 with ease.
Sejuani
Sejuani isn't unbeatable, but she's ****ing annoying. The free stats she gives to a teammate as well as having a knockup, two stuns, all the while slowly melting you with cinderhulk makes her very cancer. Handle with care.
Shaco
This is highly dependent on the Shaco player's skill. If you're fighting some random Shaco, you'll have hardly any issue fighting them apart from some annoying clone 1v2s. If you're fighting Pinkward, you'll be questioning your sanity both during and after the match. Hold your second W for the box fear or the clone death fear and you should win.
Shyvana
Shyvana is 110% R based, and she just instadies to you without it. Her only real issue is how fast she does dragons, ensuring you need to keep that **** warded and be on top of it as soon as it spawns.
Skarner
Skarner isn't much of an issue at all really, unless you get pulled by his R and don't have W up. You outdamage him at all points of the game and he can't get close without flash Ring onto you.
Zac
With his cannonball countergank potential and free guardian angel passive, this champion is just annoying to deal with after the first 10 minutes when he starts to get tanky. Get him behind early and he'll be useless from minute 5 to 50.
Xin Zhao
Xin is a pretty hard matchup. He wins 1v1s very easily early with his knockup, as his damage isn't in bursts but rather splayed across his E and three Q's. If he's a good Xin, he'll wait until he's knocked you up before he W's so you can't W it, but if he doesn't, just W the damage and you'll /maybe/ win.
Wukong
Wukong's free armor as well as TWO AOE KNOCKUPS (what the **** were they thinking) make Wukong a pretty hard matchup once he gets some damage in him. Try to not 1v1 him unless a laner can come assist you.
Volibear
Volibear has a free heal, a knockup, a fling, free attack speed as well as burst, all the while being able to build tanky as ****. Consider him when banning, but he's being reworked soon so we'll see how much more cancer he is upon release, but knowing Riot, every newest rework or release is always the most broken champion in the game at that time.
Udyr
This champion hasn't been good in a very long time, and for good reason. After the 10 minute mark, he becomes a faster super minion. He will win 1v1s early game but come late you will stomp him with ease. Give up scuttle if you have to and avoid him early.
Twitch
Literal cat and mouse. He could be 10/0 and you'd suplex him. Invade often.
Trundle
His Q and R steal your stats, his W gives him attack speed, his E knocks your ***** *** up to the ninth realm. This'd be a really good kit assuming Trundle didn't suck ****. Avoid 1v1s early, you win easy late.
Hello! My name is Trevor, or Jayce, or Jay, whatever you know me as, and this is my Rengar guide. Some of you may know me from the servers I've been on, some of you may know me from times I've shown you Rengar, but honestly I thought it'd be best to just make a full blown guide about the champion that is the only reason I still play this garbage game. So thank you for reading, and here goes.
About me
I've been playing Rengar for going onto two years now, and have accumulated over 1mil points over my time of off an on onetricking him. This champion is the only one in the game so far I've genuinely felt I get better game by game. There's such an insanely high skillcap to this champion that you feel as if you will never be the best you can be, but that's only encouragement to keep going, as you could always be better than you currently are. I don't play ranked often and have peaked plat 4, I personally prefer 5 mans and being around my friends while we all get pissed at this joke of a video game. I have committed to challenging myself and seeing how high i can go in ranked soon, but I personally don't know when that'll be. If you want to get in contact with me, you can find me on twitter @Kaina6202, (you can see my face there waow) but I won't bother linking my Discord because I change my name often.
Jungle clear
One of the best things to learn when starting off in the jungle as Rengar is what clear you're going to do. I personally am not going to bother botching up the explanation of how to clear, so I'll let one of the best Rengars of all time and my personal inspiration for playing Rengar in the first place do it for me. A streamer named ScrubNoob. Watch him some time, he's pretty ****ing insane. (mentally and mechanically.)
Near the mid to late to end game, you're going to want to look for picks and objectives, as you would on any jungle assassin. The difference with Rengar however, is how well he can do both of these with his R. If you don't see anyone on the map, don't be scared to pop your R for vision and find out what the enemy team is doing and where they are on the map since the biggest worry for any player is lack of vision. Once you do successfully get a pick, get something from it. Anything. The game just turned into a 4v5, so you have the upper hand. Get drag, a tower, inhib, rift, baron, etc. etc. And you can work around this based on the champion you just picked. If you killed their jungler you want to force baron or drag since you have smite advantage. If you picked their top laner they just lost their tank and more than likely the majority of their CC. If you picked their ADC you might can look to siege since they now have lost a chunk of their damage potential, so on and so forth.
To be continued.
I did this on a whim and more than likely missed a good chunk of what should have been said here, but I may or may not come back from time to time and add a thought I may have missed or change up some things based on balance changes Riot's monkey team decides to make. Thanks a lot for reading, and have an amazing day <3
