Malzahar is an extremely strong dueler, and most teams do not have the coordination to deal with him. He has excellent waveclear, and if someone does not attack him during his ult combo, he does ridiculous damage. His Q also gives vision

Flash and Ignite is also good, but because of his lack of mobility I prefer Flash and Ghost

Items

Liandry's Torment is an excellent item on Malzahar, as many of his skills are DPS, to the Magic Penetration is applied multiple times. I like both RoA and Seraph's, as extra mana is excellent on him, and allows him to freely scout with his Q. Distortion is very important because of his lack of mobility.

Conclusion

Very good solo queue champ overall, very powerful. In my opinion, he is an amazing champion that is very underplayed.
