This is my Draven mid guide for patch 8.6 This guide will give you some in-depth information on how to play him mid and what will help you deal with champs in the mid lane. I have been playing Draven for a long time now and just brought him mid lane this season! I was losing my first few placements with champs and picked him mid winning every game after. Why The Runes The Way They Are?

Well that is a good question dear viewer of this guide! I pick these runes for specific reasons I will state below so that you can understand the reasoning Behind them.

Press The Attack:

I use press the attack in the mid lane for one particular reason (Burst Damage Early!). Press the attack allows me to go in for some quick damage and get out FAST without taking much damage early on in the game. Quick Q, E, AA, AA, AA, and im out with w if needed. Easily take any midlaner down to half HP early on and follow up with the same rotation for a quick kill.

Overheal:

Overheal Allows me that extra shield early on with blood-thirster to enable me to tank a Jungle gank around level 7-8 if im fed early on with my passive popping off with the extra gold.

Legend Bloodline:

The bloodline rune allows the extra healing that basically make it hard for any assassin to kill you early and any mage to lose trades because of the fact you can heal more.

Coup De Grace:

This rune is really for anyone who needs to snowball early or can secure kills. Dealing extra damage on low targets just allows draven to get the passive gold early to pop-off on his build.

The Ultimate Hat:

The more you ult, the more you can use it. Every use allowing you to get CDR on your ult is amazing and with draven doing tons of damage with his ult because of the fact it does damage on the way out and on the return makes this great for 1v1's in the mid lane.

Gathering Storm:

This rune just helps in a lot of ways for many champs. The longer the game goes on the more damage you get allowing you to surpass champs that dont have it and have a weaker late game. Always use this rune on draven to keep him popping off in those long 50-60 minute matches.

The Laning Phase And How To Approach It!

The laning phase isn't much different that normal draven in the bot lane. Mostly you are ment to be a lane bully as you do extremely early burst against most champs mid. The issue with this is that if you don't get kills early you will end up being ganked often and fall off early. This isn't always a problem as your passive can bring you back into the game but that requires great peel from your tanks. So be careful about your early game and make sure if your not able to get easy early kills, freeze lane and make the lane harder for the enemy jungler to gank.

Team Fights And How I'm Suppose To Approach Them?

Team fights are huge gold incomes for draven if fed. Not only are you getting gold from champs and possibly shutdown gold, but also getting that sweet sweet passive gold. Draven is an gold income monster and why he is so great at getting fed. The only problem is that you HAVE to watch out for him mana problems. If constantly missing axes or leaving some to recast your Q for better positioning, you can find youself short on mana a lot if your not careful. So make sure that teamfights start with your full mana and not half way, as it will make sure your not oom towards the end of a fight to get that sweet sweet PENTAKILL!

What Is Draven's Pros And Cons?

Pros:

Great early game and late game damage. Superb gold income from many sources. High mobility with alright CC. Great damage on his ult. Can fight most matchups with little to no effort mid lane.

Cons:

Runs through mana fast in teamfights. Requires great positioning with his Q in the mix. Easy to gank from a good CC jungler if not careful. Loses most of his high damage if Q is not active.
