The trick against Morgana is baiting out her [[black shield]] with your [[lucent singularity]] and then use your [[light binding]] to CC her and use your combo to take her down in one burst.
Sona
Sona is a tricky little thing to face. You have to be very careful not to take a bunch of damage against her since she will out sustain you every time. Avoid her damage and use your shield as often as you can when trying to poke or catch out.
Janna
Janna isn't too difficult to face against, just don't allow yourself to get baited by her ult or get outplayed from her move speed.
Braum
Braum sucks to face as Lux, plain and simple. If he used his shield, don't touch him unless you can time it coming down.
Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank isn't too bad if you can sit behind minions and use your [[lucent singularity]] to poke the ADC down from afar. NEVER go within his hook range out in the open, Lux is much too squishy early game to take a good pull to the face and get wombo'd while the ADC bursts you down before you can flash out. Depending on their team comp, think about taking barrier or heal against him as well.
Alistar
The unkillable, ever healing passively, bull headed jerk. DO NOT let him get anywhere near you. Keep your [[light binding]] at the ready and as soon as he makes the obvious move to rush forward, use it and run away or take the opportunity to do some damage to the ADC.
Leona
Leona is simple, but not easy. Avoid her [[zenith blade]] and don't sit in her face and you should be fine.
Malzahar
Malzahar isn't too bad since your [[prismatic barrier]] outscales his DOT for quite a while and as long as you can bait out his passive shield you should be fine!
Nami
Nami nami nami. Don't get CC'd, don't get poked, and don't poke over time, she will usually outheal your damage and you will be OOM before her. Instead, focus on catching her out and using your burst combo to wipe her off the map.
Soraka
Soraka is only hard to match up against if you allow her to land her [[starcall]]. Always focus her and not he ADC as she cannot heal herself without her [[starcall]] or ultimate.
Bard
Bard is very very simple. When he leaves lane to roam for his buff, ABUSE THE EVER LIVING POOP out of his ADC. Use LOTS of wards as well, you will be pushed into their tower most of the lane phase and he will try to come from the flank.
Karma
Honestly, you should go pretty even with Karma. The only thing to truly watch out for with her is her AoE damage and her bind that will root you if you let it sit on you long enough. So keep yourself back, don't allow the AoE to hit someone and explode onto you as well, avoid the AoE she can put onto the ground that explodes after a few seconds as well.
Lulu
Lulu is an easy match up pre-6. After that, she will save her ulti for when you try to pop her or her ADC with your combo. Pre-6, abuse her and bait out her shield damage.
Nautilus
Nautilus isn't too bad as long as you treat him with respect. Understand that he does have A LOT of CC and he WILL do more damage than you expect if you let him get into your face. Avoid walls when running away from him and stay away from your ADC if he ults you or him.
Thresh
Thresh isn't bad if you keep your distance and stay behind minions. Watch for the lantern ganks and generally try to stay between the middle of the lane and your turret.
Zyra
Zyra's strong point is her poke, well so is Luxs'. The only difference is that yours is better and you have a shield. Step on her plants when they aren't activated yet, stay cautious of the placement of her plants and watch readily for her combo.
Vel'Koz
Vel'Koz, what is easy about this match up? Uh... don't stand in one place. Ever. Always move around and watch where he launches his [[plasma fission]] and where he might re activate it.
Taric
Taric can be very simple, depending on his ADC. Stay away from him and don't poke a ton. His heal and shield does quite a bit more than you'd expect. When you go to burst his ADC, do it very quickly post-6, otherwise his ult will go off and they will both be invincible for 2.5 seconds, which means you're probably dead or burned everything to try and kill him.

There is some diversity you can run for the runes, but generally, my build is what I like to go for when I am going for a carry playstyle and not utility.

There are a lot of variations to the items you will purchase and even more variations to when you should buy them. I am in the process of making a video that will tell you how to maximize your damage and utility with Lux depending on how you will be playing her.

The skill sequence is pretty situational, but the reason for the order I have in this guide is that you are already maximizing your damage output through runes and items, so maxing your shield 2nd will give you a little bit more utility to you and your team, since that's the only reason Lux makes such a great support.

Always max your E, Lucent Singularity first! This is where your most common damage is going to come from (about .6 damage per 1 AP) and the bread and butter to all the tricks you can use with Lux! I generally end up maxing her W, Prismatic Barrier second to give myself a little more utility since the scaling is not terrible (about .2 damage per 1 AP) and with this build you will have quite a bit of AP. Then you will finish off with your Q, Light Binding, the only form of hard CC that Lux has (also has a scaling of about .7 damage per 1 AP). Final Spark the most rage causing, tilt bringing, and most hilarious snipe ability in my opinion, and it just so happens to deal massive damage (base damage at max lvl 500 and scaling of .73 damage per AP with a crazy short cooldown with 45% CDR)

The biggest strength Lux brings to the early and middle lane phase is her kill pressure and poke. She has the ability to both catch out ADC's and squishy supports that have bad positioning and pressure the ADC to where they can't farm very well. Make sure you are making smart trades with your shield and

Keep in mind this is a work in progress and my first guide, I have played Lux A LOT (500 games probably) and I had a 61% win rate with her out of 163 ranked games and a 50% win rate with her this season so far out of 53 ranked games. VIDEO COMING SOON!
