Champion Build Guide

Whisky's Kayn Guide for Winners (Darkin)

By Zee Led
Introduction
Hello!
I'm Whisky, mostly playing on EUNE server. My current rank is Diamond 3. I played kayn since he got realised. I used to play shadow kayn, but I switched to darkin, because he seems better. This guide is for darkin kayn, if you play shadow, I don't recommend using this guide.
About Kayn
Kayn is unkillable in late game. Items and runes in this build are directed to doing damage and sustain.
Pros and cons

Pros:

+Huge sustain thanks to lifesteal
+Mobility
+The only champion that can walk thrue walls
+Strong in duels
+Good ganks

Cons:

-Vulnerable to CC's
-Weak before transformation
-Hard to master

Standard pathing
This is my standard jungle pathing on both - blue and red side. The picture doesn't include ganks, because I wanted to explain it a bit. Also pathing should be different if your champion is weaker early than the enemy jungler. You can gank top or mid after 3rd or 5th camp on the blue side. On the red side you can also gank mid/top, but after 4th and 5th camp. Scuttle contest. On the picture I marked 5th camp as top stuttle on both sides. Why? Because it's easier with my pathing, so you don't have to rotate half a map just to get the bottom one. In some cases, you might be forced to. If your champion is weaker than the enemy jungler, change your pathing. If you see him doing top scuttle, don't approach, go to bottom crab ASAP and try to kill it, before enemy jungler comes to you. Standard recall is after 5th or 7th camp.
Abilities
The Darkin Scythe (passive 1/2)
Kayn wields an ancient, sentient weapon that battles with him for control. Dealing damage against champions causes them to drops orbs that are automatically collected upon leaving combat, filling a bar above Kayn's portrait.

Once the bar is full, he can choose to either be overwhelmed by Rhaast or expel him to become the Shadow Assassin, based on whether he has damaged more melee or ranged champions, respectively. Once primed, the other option becomes available after 4 minutes. Kayn can continue collecting orbs for his other form to reduce the wait time.

The transformation can only be performed by interacting with Kayn's portrait while on the summoning platform, permanently changing his abilities.

The Darkin Scythe: Rhaast(Passive 2/2)
Rhaast heals for 34% - 43% (based on level) of the post-mitigation damage that he deals with spells against enemy champions.

Reaping Slash: Rhaast (Q)
Kayn dashes forward, dealing 50% of his total attack damage (+ 5% (+ 4% per 100 bonus AD) of target's maximum health) physical damage to all enemies he passes through before flourishing his scythe, dealing the same damage again to surrounding enemies. The damage against monsters is capped at 200 / 250 / 300 / 350 / 400.

Both instances of Reaping Slash deal 55 bonus damage against monsters.

Blade's Reach: Rhaast(W)
After a short delay in which he can't perform any other actions, Kayn performs an upwards sweep with his scythe, dealing 90 / 135 / 180 / 225 / 270 (+ 1.3 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to all enemies in a line, knocking them up for 1 second, then slowing them by 60%, decaying over 1.5 seconds.

Shadow Step: Rhaast (E)
Kayn gains 40% bonus movement speed, is ghosted and can ignore terrain collision for 1.5 seconds. Immobilizing effects will interrupt Shadow Step.

Kayn heals himself by 100 / 115 / 130 / 145 / 160 (+ 0.4 per bonus attack damage) upon moving through terrain for the first time and, if he's not in combat with enemy champions, Shadow Step's duration is increased to 7 / 7.5 / 8 / 8.5 / 9 seconds.

Entering combat with a champion after the effect is enhanced reduces the remaining duration to 1.5 seconds.

Umbral Trespass: Rhaast (R)
Passive: Kayn's basic attacks and abilities mark enemy champions for a few seconds.

Active: Kayn can activate Umbral Trespass to infest a marked enemy champion for up to 2.5 seconds, revealing them and becoming untargetable for the duration. Reactivating Umbral Trespass ends the effect early.

Upon reactivation or at the end of the duration, Kayn wrenches free from their body in the cursor's direction, dealing 10% (+ 13% per 100 bonus attack damage) of target's maximum health as physical damage to the target, and healing him for 70% of that amount.
