Hey guys, I'm LegendOfTheMeow, and this is my first guide ever (For LoL). I've played Garen for about 3 months so yeah I'm not the professional Diamond I who plays since Season 1 but I think i'm not that bad with a couple of champs and I decided to do a guide on Garen. Hope you'll like this guide and also, English is not my main language so be comprehensive on that fact and I'll try to do the less errors possible :)

I pretty much have nothing to say about that, the Q spell is really important for catching up enemies and of course, silencing them, but the E is important for farming also. So just alternate between the Q and the E but prioritize (idk if that's a word, found it on Google Traduction T_T) the Q spell. But upgrade also your W sometimes and upgrade your Ult when you can.

FLASH

Flash is a MUST while playing Garen Top because he doesn't have a quick burst of speed like a jump or a teleport to escape ganks (Except for is Q that gives him a short boost of Movement Speed).

Ignite

Useful when fighting a quick or a long range enemy such as Gnar, GangPlank, Pantheon etc... but you should usually finish your target with your Ultimate.

Teleport

I personally never take teleport while going top lane because I prefer Ignite, but sometimes, you need to go fast somewhere to tank or to defend a tower and you just can't so it can be useful in some situations.

Laning Phase: Farming is great with your E spell, but it's really easy to harass you because you have nothing to poke with so it can be a trouble, so try to stay close to your minions and farm what you can. If the ennemy rushes you, pretend to run away with Q then E, if he's getting and then turn back to hit with your Q when it's still active. If he's low, you can continue the fight or go away and regenerate health with your passive.

Mid Game: An interesting part of the game, when everyone goes everywhere, doing dragons and pushing, I think this is the best time for Garen to shine with your Sunfire Cape and your Black Cleaver. Don't be afraid, even if Garen's spells are mostly for 1 v 1, go in team fights to earn some money! Show them who's the real tank!

Late game: Full build, around 500 health regenerating per 5 seconds because of your passive, this is just awesome. If you're doing a great score, you're pretty much immortal with around 5000 Hp (If you follow my build ;p) but don't go alone of course, you're a tank, not an assassin!

At the beginning of the game, farming with Garen is hard especially if you're against a long range enemy but later, with your E + Sunfire cape, it's easy :)


*I'm REALLY not a pro farmer btw, but I really think what I write so you should listen to what I say :).
