Introduction
QUICK EXPLANATION ON WHY THIS BUILD WORKS.
My philosophy is this; as ANY carry champion, you should not be the one dying. If you're fit to play a carry, you'll know when to go in and when to go out. Taking Ghost+Flash is great training wheels if you need to practice this. If you feel this build doesn't work for you in terms of survivability then you should try looking into a tanky DPS build that would better suit your playstyle. Don't get greedy, and remember you aren't invincible.Wukong is a relatively new champion so this guide will be updated as I find new builds and playstyles.
Using your
effectively is the difference between a decent WuKong and a great WuKong.
Things to consider:
- Decoy CANNOT be used to dodge spells and AoE, but skillshots such as Bandage Toss can be avoided.
- Decoy can be used to set off Caitlynn's Traps, do so by running up to a trap and turning around; dropping your Decoy down as you turn.
-As seen in the Champion spotlight, you can fake a Decoy by hitting the S key on your keyboard and staying still for 1.5 seconds, afterwards use your decoy and get away safety.
-Your ulti should not be used as an initiation, in a team fight try to wait on using your ulti until 2 or more people are low on health. Using your ulti as an AoE crowd control can be game changing.
-Refer question #2 in FAQ for more information on how to ult.
You should not be dying a lot with WuKong. If you happen to die a lot Consider the following;
•Try a tanky dps guide
•PLAY MORE! Experience Experience Experience.
Remember the golden rule as carry: Don't feel useless if you aren't initiating fights right away, that's not you're job. You're job is to go in, pick people off and leave.

However, if Ghost suits your playstyle, swap out Flash.
In early game the ideal intention is to get first + second blood. This shouldn't be hard unless you're up against really tanky champions or a Soraka.
You want to harass by hitting them with Q and using your E. WuKong is very mana efficient so you won't be out of mana until about after a kill or two.
If they are out of range, use your E first and follow up with W to get away. If they're dumb enough to stay hit them with a couple more autoattacks.
Once they're around 60% health, use your Nimbus Strike then use your Q. Follow it up with an Ulti and use exhaust if needed.
Remember you can knock up the second person while you hit the first.

Laning with WuKong is either be really aggressive or turret hugging if you're up against a comp like
Galio and
Ezreal.
*IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER*
Kayle Even with the new reworks, Kayle's slow is very good for first blood. Have Kayle slow any target and jump on them. Follow it up by Exhaust if needed. If Kayle has ignite it's even better.
Lux
Morgana Snares are in general very easy free kills. Take every snare as an opportunity to kill
Taric Great stuns, decent heals. Generally easy pressure on lane making them easier to gank.
Amumu Stun + Ult, if he uses his ult you use yours gg auto kills.
Janna Her shield can be very useful for babysitting AD carrys like WuKong. If Janna can land most of her knockups, it should become a very easy lane.

Partners That are Good to Lane With (Generally HARD CC)
*IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER*

Why I get Sword of the Occult; The reasoning behind this is because I feel WuKong is quite useless if you're not getting kills anyways. If you have a bad score and are having a bad game, sell this item. But chances are you can get the kills/assists that you need. Sword of the Occult provides great damage, because no other items gives this much damage, WuKong can easily get away early-mid game with Decoy. Which is when you get your stacks up. For an early 1369g (About the price for a Phage or a Sheen) it's a worthwhile investment.
I've been getting a lot of downvotes because of the Sword of Occult, however after consideration I've decided to keep it in the main build. I myself have done very well with this build and so have many others. When you play an AD carry you shouldn't be dying a lot. If you're unable to sustain at least half stacks on your sword, you are pretty much not carrying enough and shouldn't take the AD carry role. AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO SWORD OF THE OCCULT, YOU CAN TAKE
Youmuu's Ghostblade OR
Infinity Edge
Mercury's Treads Take this instead if they have lot's of CC and or AP.
Mobility Boots If the other team is noob and you're curbstomping them anyways

SITUATIONAL:

Why not build Wukong Tanky DPS?
I personally am not a fan of Tanky DPS champions, reason being they drop very hard late game. With a Tanky DPS build, taking items such as Last Whisper only grant great damage and armor pen throughout mid game. During late game you won't have the damage you need to take people down quick, which is what Wukong is perfect for.
Why do you build
Sword of the Occult when you're focused making it hard to hold your stacks?
Here's the thing; As a more fragile WuKong build, you shouldn't be fighting like you're tanky dps. You should NOT be initiating fights, the way I use my ult is; Wait for someone to initiate, be prepared in brush or out of LoS, after enemies are clumped together and have dumped their hard CC's jump in with Nimbus Strike and Cyclone. This gets your stacks.
