The build is a standard AP build I use with most AP mids. I take Teleport for map control instead of Ignite. Ignite is a great alternative, but you would need to change your masteries to take a point in
Summoner's Wrath
instead of
Mental Force
.
stun > plant > bloom
Land a Grasping Roots then plant a few seeds with Rampant Growth and bloom with Deadly Bloom. Ideally, it would be good to get one of each type of plant, and follow up with Stranglethorns:
stun > plant > bloom > plant > ulti
We take Grasping Roots at level one in case of a level two gank. Otherwise, we max deadly bloom for more burst, then Grasping Roots.
Starting Out
No contest here, at least for me. :) I prefer to start this way over a Doran's Ring, but it is a worthy alternative.
Early Game
I'll usually build the catalyst of the protector for more sustain, and then finish the boots. A Doran's Ring or two may not hurt either!
Mid Game
I finish off a Rod of Ages here, since it's almost done.
Late Game
In late game, I'll pick based on what's needed.
