Downloaded some Fonts so I retouched the Ichigo signature again. I think the clipping mask turned out rather nice on the font I was using.
An additional edit trying to get some splatters and blur effects. I think it looks alright, with more practice I'll be able to do better.
With your clipping mask'd layer, try using the clone tool to copy a particular colour/colour theme/pattern you like, so the text is easier to read.
If I made your sig, this is what I'd do:
There were three particular "patterns" I thought would look nice with the sig, so I stamp cloned them with a relatively small brush and placed them in different places on the layer I will clipping mask, so I can try the different effects at the same time.
That's my preference anyway - I find it makes the text easier to read as the colour is all uniform.
