Hello, everyone. I'm looking for some people to help me out with a new strategy guide I am planning on creating.

I've decided to write a guide on champion counters, listing different ways of countering each and every champion. I'm doing this because 1) There isn't a guide already on the forums for that 2) I have nothing to do for a month because of school break, and 3) Nobody can stop me anyway. The problem is that I haven't played against all champions (Never played against Graves, Urgot, Ahri for example), it's a big undertaking, and I don't know effective counters for every champion.

So, I'm looking for a few people to report ways of countering specific champions to me, both gameplay changes and item purchases. I'll put the counters in the guide, you send them to me. Anyone interested?

I understand this is why you're coming here to make this guide, which is is intended to be a useful tool, however, this is going to be a guide written from your own personal experience, and the experiences of others.

That leaves enough room for error that I have to ask, "Is it beneficial for a guide like this to exist, or is it actually going to cause some negative effects?"

I imagine it will do both, it will in fact cause negative effects if it is received well. Many people feel that Renekton is a great solo, but I've never lost to one because I took the time to learn how to counter him. Others just gave up because somebody told them he will win in "X" situations.

If you still try to make this, always keep in mind the information should be ever evolving and always be open to testing new things and letting people try to prove your information incorrect. Such is the nature of these guides, there needs to be a scientific method if you wish to make the claim that "X" beats "Y"

Perhaps you could take a look at every top guide per champion. Usually they include a list of what champions are easy to counter and which are not. If not, you could try to send a PM to the guide author and ask him/her to include it, or write it to you.

Good initiative though =)

True. But one could say that about any guide. Jhoijhoi's guide to making a guide is a useful and well respected guide, but in the end it's one person's opinion on what makes a good guide(not meaning to pick on her guide). All the guides on here are one person's opinion on the correct way to do something, and they all are subject to how the clash with the opinions of others. Every guide on here has at least 1 downvote after all. I'm not a senior forum member, but I understand how these sorts of community contribution sites are supposed to work. That's another reason I'm looking for a team, as it will lessen the reliance on one person's experiences. I also have other plans for testing/proving the information if I ever get this off the ground.

Also, while I respect and appreciate all of you posting in my thread, my guide is certainly going to fail if all I get are people questioning the usefulness of this guide and my ability to write it. The success of hinges on whether I'm able to get people to help me, if it's just me, the guide will never be published. I don't have connections to anyone else in the LoL community, so this is pretty much the only way for me to get help. If you like the initiative and want to help out with it, then give me what counters you have.

Funny you mention her guide, I think that her works have had negative influence as well as positive.

There are flowcharts of proposed "Counters" for lane phase, charts published where "X" champion wins these or those lanes.

However I can tell you right now once runes and gear and everything is considered, the project you are undertaking is either going to be as difficult as writing a 3 book (500 page each) series, or, downright impossible. It would take months of research to cover all the necessary bases, perhaps a week per champion.

Then you have to consider all the possible match ups and gear counters and EVERYTHING, and THEN you have to consider individual player skill.

Wait, are we talking counter-picking, counter-building or both?

Perhaps he simply means plain lane counters. Some champions are supposed to beat other champions just because of how they work. Many of the videos or streams that I've seen proclaim that Rumble beats Yorick in lane. There's no math or build options to consider there, it pretty much just is. Creating a list like this (in which you only take the basic lane match-up) would be not an impossible undertaking.

What good is a list without reasoning, though? I mean, sure you can mention that this skill counters the enemy's ability to "whatever", but once you mention each champion, doesn't that tell itself?

I'm just thinking it has to sort of be an all or nothing mission.

Another suggestion could be making it a little more general than who counters who (Because of the fact, that the counter can be countered through counter-building, and defensive play as well as player mentality). What I mean by general is basically how ranged skills(or AA's even) can be an advantage to melees, however distance-closers are very strong against those with ranged skills, and are essentially a counter to ranged characters (Be it skills or AAs).

They are a similar and related thought.

Let's say you counter pick Nidalee with Irelia? (I've been told this counter works, never tried it)

If Nidalee buys Warden's mail, the counter fails.

So Irelia doesn't actually counter Nidalee.

Counter picking has to consider gear as well.

That's why his project is essentially impossible and would take an eternity.
