I'm currently planning on making a support guide in general to give newer players or less experienced players a better idea of what it means to be a support and teaching them the basics of supporting and differences between supports. Wouldn't it be a good idea to add some links to great guides for different supports so they can learn about the champions as well? (of course with permission of the author)

Just saying it's just an idea. I just want to know if it's a good idea or not :3 Opinions please ^^

I think it is a great idea. I'd personally search for something of the likes if I were a new player, but keep in mind some people don't know that "General Guides" section exists. I am a guy who likes to do some research before delving into the depths, so I'd definitely check it out (I could use some advice on supporting xD ).

It's a good idea, but it does require a lot of your time.

Patches can have great effect on champions, and if authors don't update their guides quickly your guide will lose value as well. It will also require you to regularly check the guides for each champion and see if there are better ones around than the one you currently list.

And... which champs would you classify as supports? Back in the day people used to play Lux, Orianna, Elise and Fiddlesticks as support while now that isn't half as common.

All in all the idea is good, (I've been thinking about it myself as well but it would just take up too much of my time) but be prepared to invest a lot of time.

Well I've thought about that :3 Since I don't really have a job or school so I have lots of time that I can invest in it.

That's indeed a minor issue, but besides that I just want to focus on the basics more than the champions itself because that's what it's really about.

I also thought of that one but it'll be a little tricky. So far I've created new Support Triangles for both common supports and uncommon supports (because all of the old one were just.. well outdated).

But that's why I basically posted it here before even starting it :3 Maybe someone has better ideas or something.

It's a good idea especially because there will most likely be only few, not tremendously weighty patch changes before the world championship

You may want to consider support tier lists for arranging your guide

I think it's a great idea! However, because there are supports who play completely different from each other, you might want to split it up into sections. You could have one on tanky supports, sustain supports, utility supports, etc. It'd take a lot of work, but it's a brilliant idea. :D

It's a great idea to do a basics guide to supporting. I would suggest making it a youtube video also. I would check out the guide if you make it. Even though I'm a support main, learning from other support mains is very valuable and the best way to progress and learn to carry a bad adc or a team on tilt.

DO IT!

JUST

DO IT!!!
