Smite on Baron twice!! Of course both times I was getting Hecarim ulted and taking fire from Twitch all the while. Not something I have had much trouble with until this season. Over thinking it?I feel like I'm doing something fundamentally wrong given how hard some of the games feel. Time for another coaching session?
Accidental ranked game. In chat "We need to group so we stop getting picked off." Which actually wasn't the problem. Our main problem was overstaying after securing objectives. That resulted in a bunch of unnecessary deaths and transfers of gold to the enemy team. Late game they simply proved better at team fighting with their comp than we did with our comp.
Warwick kept walking into me in the river when Blitzcrank and Miss Fortune were able to move which netted us at least three kills. Karthus died every time Ziggs looked at him sideways, but he picked up some key kills with his ult that gave us some room to work. Gnar did a good job of not tilting despite getting dove by Warwick and Garen a couple of times. I focused most of my attention Bot lane since we really couldn't kill Garen on our own the one time I tried. Had good Dragon and Baron control since we usually managed to kill of Warwick before going for any of those objectives. Gnar had a nice free for all toward the end of the game despite Miss Fortune going down. I had a quandry in weather to ult Garen who was in the middle of our team or Warwick. I opted for Garen, but that left MF exposed so I suppose I chose incorrectly there.I think I tend to prefer a more tanky
Skarner especially when I don't get ahead early and I didn't see much early action in this game.
Malzahar when you are a somewhat squishy engage champion. Yuck. That forced me into an early Quicksilver Sash, but it saved my bacon at least twice one of which was positioning myself to make me a better target for Amumu than Varus.Our
Leona was touched, even moreso than most Silver Leona's. She about tilted me out of the game when I was trying to sneak a drake and she ran into the pit and started whacking a ward that I had suppressed with a Control Ward which brought four of their team memembers running to the pit and she wouldn't run away despite being put on low health from their poke.Their
Janna did a good job roaming since our Bot lane was not taking advantage of it. I told them to please kill Jhin if Janna leaves lane again, you have Leona for god's sake. He shouldn't be able to get within exp range of the minion wave with his support out of lane. Okay, I didn't say all of that, but that was the general idea.Rumble was having some trouble in Top because
Amumu was focusing his attention there but Rumble recovered with some great post fight clean-ups which made him huge. Varus also quietly got huge and Lux held up well in Mid lane. We kept catching their Darius out and they kept over committing and not respecting how fed Rumble was, which allowed us to get Baron and end the game.
We didn't manage the team fights well later in the game. Had to field
Rammus and Diana and trying to dive in on Draven with a Black Shield on him and an Urgot sitting on him made for a dead scorpion.I missed several times with
Ixtal's Impact when it would have been really nice to setup a stun on someone.We also overstayed a couple of times trying to end the game. They had too much chase and pick potential. We should have respected that more.
Team did well. Only annoying part was having to quickly mute the
Lux for being an ***hat. Garen stayed cool despite some difficulties with Yorick so he got my vote for good sport.I need to be more careful about warding when I don't know where everyone is. That got me killed once this game and it also happened in a previous game. I'm trying to get more vision down in the enemy jungle, but I shouldn't be doing it when it is too risky. In this case I just happened to get collapsed on by their Bot lane who was roaming down but since our Bot lane had already roamed down I should have taken that into consideration.
Moved up to Silver 2. Yay! The grind is real though. It has been a rough start to the season.

Caitlyn got fed off Brand though Varus picked up some kills in the process. Ryze handled Swain well and Yasuo while not dominating Nasus, didn't feed him any kills and he followed up with me when I ganked the Nasus. By my recollection the Yasuo should dominate the lane, but it relies on freezing and denying the Nasus and killing him any time he walks up for a minion.They were pretty magic damage heavy so my item path was pretty clear. Lots of MR with a
Thornmail to help me survive the Varus.Seem to be doing well with
Shyvana and Xin Zhao but Shyvana is frequently banned and my teams often don't spec for a tank anywhere in their composition so I've been playing some Sejuani with mixed results. Should probably see how I feel about [
Mid, Top, and Bot effectively lost their lanes.
Orianna had one nice roam to Bot lane. Never really managed to sync with each other when it came to team fighting especially being behind. Without stronger performances from my laners I don't know that I could have changed the outcome of this game.
