In a lane with two people who are equally good at last-hitting, one wave will push out and then push back because of the tower. The problem with destroying the tower is that it takes longer for their minions to push back again, making you vulnerable for a longer period.
Still, I imagine that the global gold, exp, positioning, and even the psychological factor is worth it.

Every game that I have played where I have pushed a tower really early, I have lost.
Every game that I have played where I have lost a tower really early, I have won.
I'm just trying to figure out why.
EVERY game? That seems quite a bit exaggerated.

I'd just like to put this out there. Although I understand that this isn't really what you're suggesting - I guess you're saying early towers caused by simple lane dominance and not like 5 people pushing a lane at once.
We should do this someday.

Just want to discuss the problems with an early tower kill. By this I mean, if you destroy their tower very early in the game (which I have done many times at roughly 5min mark) is it a good thing or bad thing.
Reasons it is a good thing:
- They lose control of their jungle
- Global gold for your team
- May lose dragon control
Reasons it is a bad thing:
- Your minions become stronger, pushing your other lanes which in turn makes your teammates more susceptible to ganks
- In order to gain exp/minion kills you will need to be pushed quite far into the other team's side of the map, opening yourself up to be ganked
Discuss.
