I feel your pain :(.
The last game i played, i went 2-6-1.
The reason?
My team was 3-27.
My team's comp was Soraka, Lux, GP, Ashe, Mordekaiser(me).
I took mid, and was against Anivia, one of morde's hard counters, you have to be EXTREMELY careful in lane against nivia. I messed up two times or so, and caught the nivia making a mistake once and killed her.
Top was GP+Soraka, they were against Talon, and they fed him 12 kills by 20 minutes.
Bottom was Lux+Ashe, and they were against teemo and GP, and teemo had 10 kills by 20 minutes.
Amumu was jungling, and he was the cause of probably 5/6 of my deaths.
I was going AP, and i couldn't do anything because of it, was a poor choice on my part, but if i went tankier i still couldn't have pulled back the 1v5.
You know what killed it for me?
Soraka bought a Soulstealer after going 0/8.
Tri lane for life.

^I fully agree with everything here.Being new to LOL I haven't gotten a shot at ranked yet.As my 'normal matchmaking' team mates continue to fail over and over I wonder why I'd even try ranked and get stuck in ELO hell.I'm not the best player ever by a long shot,but I play defensively and do alright even when my team goes 10/40.In my recent match history I only have 2 games with negative k/d and overall k/d for last 10 games is 6/2.5 ratio.That was playing Nidalee as a support and actually trying to do my job lol.

It's just the eb and flow of LoL right now.
There are few and far between matches where a victory or loss was not completely one sided.
The issue is Riot's mantra of keeping games quick, rather than fun.
Do I like long games? Not entirely, but I don't like short ones either.
They implemented a snowballing system, every turret taken in a certain direction directly buffs minions making them more powerful to keep the momentum shifted.
The problem with that system is it makes close games frusterating rather than fun. All the enemy needs to do is get ahead a bit in turrets let minions push and make moves while the we (the ones behind) are pinned. It's a simple strategy with no real counter, because what a team should do (who is slightly behind) is get agressive, but the game forces us into passivity less we want our turrets to fall minions.
What I expect to see in the future are mini global obectives like there will be for Domion. Dragon is simply gold and EXP, it does nothing to enviornmentally shift a game towards the team who took it. Baron provides a medium long buff. Not bad and there is often a large back and forth over it between teams. But even Baron does not shift the eb and flow of a game in a drastic way other than putting the team with it in a better ofesnive position than the one without. With certain objectives to be fought over, the game may go faster. Force team fights, get better pushes. Every team fight needs to mean something, and I don't mean that "Oh hey we can push now or get Baron because they are down 1 person" I mean something impactful like a buffed minion wave, an additonal Cannon creep in your next 4 waves stuff like that.

Riot has stated their dislike for the passivity of the game. But currently all they're doing is changing champs to make them playable in a more aggressive manner. But changing champs doesn't do that. Not entirely anyway, because people are still behind the controls. To shift gameplay they need to change the game itself in some way. Here's hoping for a slight overhaul in sr mechanics.
