[[Gangplank]] can be an annoying champion to lane against, but he hasn't been a strong champion in a while. He could just delay enemy scaling forever. I mean, he's got no hard CC, and nothing for damage other than the Q. Which really doesn't hit that hard unless he crits. You can just get some early armor too. Tabi/Chain vest and you're pretty much good.[/quote]

And, while his passive is some damage, it's very low. Like, pitifully low. I mean, 3 magic damage+his level, and then it's reduced by MR... it's not going to stack up to Riven's passive any time soon. And, Riven has a shield to not really care about the Q poke.[/quote]
