Yeah to be honest this has annoyed me too. Constantly save - view - repeat until correct. This can take a lot of time (yeah I am a derp), so a solution as proposed could help :)

Use the indent tag. I don't want columns in guides changed. I'd have to delete hundreds of lines of coding if columns worked the way they were supposed to.
Indent actually fails because it will start a new line.
I think NinjaGinge means something like a TAB would do in MS Word. Amirite?
Actually I was referring to the number of ENTERs you need to use between columns, imgs and text in my earlier comment.

^Er, don't know what you're talking about. Indent always is on par with everything else I want in the column? Or did I misunderstand your meaning?
I figured you do not use columns then, if this option becomes available.

Personally, I would like the "TAB" button on a key board to automatically put

, as currently, it justs moves on to the next text box/button option.
@Jhoi
I think this is more an easier way to get text away from something, like being able to "float" "indents" so that there is space on each side.
For example:
[float=left][/float]Text[float=right][/float]
That would achieve the same thing as columns with indents would, in terms of adding space in front and in back.
At least, that's what I think it is. Sorry Ninja if I am completely misunderstanding what you are saying.

Well Ice Creamy definitely has the best grasp of what I'm saying here.
@Ice Creamy: The only thing about your explanation is that I would like to be able to control exactly how many spaces there are instead of using a big fat space that the tab button gives in MS word.
@jpikachu: you're on the right path except I'm not suggesting there need be space on each side, simply a chunk of space wherever you please. For example: no matter how long I hold down the space bar (which I'm going to do for example) there following words "here" & "there" will always end up having just a single space in between them and the "&"
@jhoi: I was not suggesting that anything be done to your columns, I was simply remarking about how I could have done what I wanted to do with columns, but it would be more work and the proposed change gives more freedom to formatting. FOR EXAMPLE:
In your guide you explains columns and they come out looking beautiful and nicely spaced as follows:
This coding is particularly nice for spacing lots of lines of info. In other cases though where you just want to insert spaces in any old spot we are lacking in coding allowing us to do so. For example there isn't an easy way for me to space out hit and you're in the following line without just adding text and coloring it the same as the background.
"If you do not learn and practice to last hit enough space here you're gonna have a bad time."
SUMMARY:
As was in the original post I'm suggesting coding along the lines of to be able to add a value of space in the resulting post equal to the equivalent space created by hitting the space bar x times.

I know that adding more than one space between words will only give 1 space in between words, I've had the same problems.
Just a question, the code would be something like this right? , if I want 4 spaces.
Pretty good idea by the way.

I realized the other day that there was no efficient way to just add spaces in most places. For those of you who haven't tried to spread things out just by using spaces, the result is that all the extra spaces beyond the first are ignored. I wanted to space a few things out in the support section of my guide the other day because I was doing some updates, and to my dismay there wasn't a basic way to add a couple extra spaces. While I could have used columns in this case I ended up brute-forcing it. I just put a word in between what I wanted to space and colored it black to make it invisible.
Simply for the occasional situation where adding some extra space to a spot is most convenient, I think there should really be the coding available for use. The ability to add spaces kind of sounds like a fundamental feature to me don't ya think?
