Realm of the Titans Closed Beta Date!

[/quote] Thought the invites were sent out already for people in Alpha? That's what I was getting at. I thought my account may be activated for CB. I also figured the client would update itself to the lastest version, seeing as 90% of the other tests I've been in do that when moving from one version to another.[/quote]

This is 99% of the time done by the developers themselves. Closed beta is where you get a select few people to test your game when it's "finished". They find any bugs, fix any gaping balance issues they find, etc. They have an insight of being completely new to the game, whereas a developer might see things differently. Open beta is where you let anyone play it. This is usually to find more obscure bugs, or see how servers will react to so many people, or what the game will actually be like in full motion, and if there's anything to fix bugs/balance THEN![/quote]
