^haha.
One of the funniest memories I have of childhood was of my best friend at the time crying, "Eww, centipede!" sidestepping the insect, and then falling down the stairs.
At the time I didn't laugh. But. Today is a different story.

Ender's Game - One of the best books I've ever read. Ever. If you don't read this, you are missing out incredibly.
Eragon - Very young author, very interesting book. The first book (Eragon) is very good, although the writing is below-average. The second book has better writing and the third is even better. An amazing series and I have preordered the fourth book which will come out in November
A Wrinkle in Time - More of a children's book, but contains a lot of darkness and more adult themes. Is somehow creepy and very well written.
Artemis Fowl series - This kind of book is not usually my taste, but the author did it so well. This series is another amazingly good one.
Alex Rider Series - Targets a younger audience, but is very well written and would suit an older one too most likely.
Another notable book is "The Cat who Walked Through Walls" (might be "walks" instead of "walked"). This book has a great first half, but I think it gets worse after that.
I've only read about 20 books in my life, but I think the ones I mentioned are still some of the best in the world.
Also, I'm sixteen years old so maybe what I like won't suit you. Except Ender's Game will. No matter what you have to read it lol.

"I also am Otherkin. Whenever autumn rolls around I can feel my kin-type slowly taking over my body. You must know, I identify as pumpkin. I can control it pretty good most of the time, but when September ends, I just cant hold it in anymore. Whenever Im outside I see my brothers and sisters being chopped into soup, coffee, donuts, cake, drinks, bread - ppl even cut human faces into their skin, making a mockery out of their noble appearance. When I see things like that I cant control my pumpkin urges anymore. My natural instincts kick in. I then sit down motionless, while getting bright orange." - Morgana L

Eragon was a perfectly decent book, but I couldn't drag myself through the badly written bore that was Eldest.
LotR is already on the list ^.^
I will also add A Wrinkle in Time, which I really want to read.
I think Artemis Fowl is already on the list, but I will check to be sure.
I will look up where to put The Silence of the Lambs and The Poet.
The Cat who walked through walls will be added.
I am also going to add Chinese Cinderella to the list if I havent already.
Thanks for your suggestions guys!

Star Wars Republic Commando...
...Hard Contact (November 2004) Book 1 of the Republic Commando series
...Triple Zero (February 2006) Book 2 of the Republic Commando series
...True Colors (October 2007) Book 3 of the Republic Commando series
...Order 66 (September 2008) Book 4 of the Republic Commando series
...501st (October 2009) Book 5 of the Republic Commando series
all from Karen Traviss.
Those books arent telling the Star Wars story. They just take the Universe and are telling a new story about the life in the clone army. I read the first part about 10 times. Yes. 10 ****ing times.
The whole story tells from a Squad ("Delta Squad").
I dont want to go on writing cause I dont want to spoiler you. But one last thing:
The last few books aren't about fighting as hard as the first book.
"The Night Angel"
The Way of Shadows (2008)
Shadow's Edge (2008)
Beyond the Shadows (2008)
all from Brent Weeks.
I read the first two books (1400 pages) in about two weeks. Nuff said.
But there are much more books I read. 150 minimum. I just can't remember them :/

Thanks to Joxuu!

Eragon made me want to read more. Eldest made me wish I hadn't tried. I never even tried to read Brisingr (however it's spelled).
I'm going to groom the list a bit, because I added some things (on my own) that aren't that great.
I'll add your books once I finish this bit. ^^
