oh wow looks pretty accurate.
as for 1984 and Catcher in the Rye, probably in historical fiction/non-fiction
may not be the absolute best spot for either of them, but its good until we have an "oh wow these are just pure epic no wonder school made us read them" category

The Saga of Darren Shan:
If you're a fan of fantasy and more.. Well, LESS Twilighty-girly-**** Vampire bullocks, this is for you. Movies so far are ****ing awful, but can't really blame the author for that.
It's a young-adult book series, with more gore, more MANLY MANLINESS, less sparkly ****, and it's incredibly well-written with a really good plot and story. Highly recommended. Really. Can't stress it enough.
- Cirque du Freak
- The Vampire's Assistant
- Tunnels of Blood
- Vampire Mountain
- Trials of Death
- The Vampire Prince
- Hunters of the Dusk
- Allies of the Night
- Killers of the Dawn
- The Lake of Souls
- Lord of the Shadows
- Sons of Destiny

read a few when I was in elementary/middle school, haven't touched 'em since but want to get back into the series since I remember them being so good...
and no they are not little kid books from what I recall xD
each around 500 pgs or so :o
but yea, with Honors/AP LA giving a ****ton of reading during school and summer, I don't really have time to read stuff I want to read. :P
OH BUT TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD IS REALLY GOOD
if it wasn't mentioned already
^^
