@caucheka:
Oi oi, I don't think WoW is stale at all.
RPG-based MMOs naturally have an expiration date because your first and maybe latter few RPGs will always possess a fresh and reality-taming flavour.
Once you've become used to all the basic mechanics, alternative characters or new RPGs will seem repetitive by nature.
This is just a fundamental flaw in MMORPGs. That's why I've learned towards a MOBA instead, because F2P RPGs just lack the same polish P2P games have.
WoW of all RPGs has been the best at keeping this natural decay at bay (at least in US, Asia has loads of games that destroy WoW in numbers, but they've got all those chinese citizens, who knows how the numbers are doing). It's got loads of replayability features that other MMORPGs lack. It will inevitably fall to this rising free-2-play era, but it will be one of the last and definitely become one of the strongest in the f2p market.

I'd not play WoW if it goes f2p, cause GW 2 is coming to eliminate competition.
But I'm playing some private servers, so if you want someone, tell me the one u're now.
Yeah dude Rift so killed WoW. IT killed it dead man...OH wait.....
Yeah do I think GW 2 will be awesome? Sure. Will it kill WoW, doubtful and people who think it will need to look at the facst
~10 years of WoW
vs
~1 year of Rift
Vanilla WoW (lvl 1-60) is ~20 bucks in the store right now
Rift is now 26.99 it was something like 30-40 (maybe more i don't remember) bucks when it released. Less than a year and it's dropped to 27 bucks....
But who cares? WoW es #1
not really. i like the rifts (outdoor raids at any level, basically.) that popped up everywhere, along with how they handed classes and talent trees better than wow.
there are some things though that wow does better, the main thing that comes to mind now are races. races dont mean much in rift.
