In terms of suspension of belief, well yes, no one really quite believes when a dragon as big as a house parades around a battle field, or that there are little men with hairy feet living in little Hobbit-Homes or... women who wear skin-tight, virtually painted on leather with cat ears.
Buuuuuut, the authors of these works do the utmost to make the scenarios somewhat believable. If that dragon did not have a wing span twice the size of it's length, then it could not pick itself up off the ground. If hobbits just "existed" without having lives dedicated to farming and eating, they'd be less realistic. If Catwoman could slink around without being dressed like a prostitute, how would the authors make any money? LOL.
Lugi: Sure, I have my own car, my boyfriend has his own car, many people work to buy their own cars. It's just not that common in Australia to have your own car until after highschool, and even beyond that to after university.
