Lately I changed my own casting to smart cast, but still there are skills that I like more using without smart cast
like Luxes ulti cause i dont have the right feeling of its range

I use mouse4 for smartcast Q. Works on most champions when I feel need it and I don't have to change anything in the settings. I wish I could use mouse5 too, but last time I tried LoL didn't support it :(

Smartcasting on combo champs like Akali, LeBlanc or Ryze boosts your burst by a LOT because you are able to get four spells off in the time of one.
To change your bindings to smartcasting, press ESC ingame, >Key Bindings>Bind smart cast spell 1-4 to Q -R and summoner spell 1 and 2 to D and F.
I just started using it on Akali(She's the only AP I play) and it makes her gameplay so much more responsive and fluent, it's wonderful. You also get all your four spells including shroud off in a blink of a second, that gave me a doublekill at my tower when I got dived, huehue.
Just try it, you will love it.
