Hahahahahahahaha
I used to play hybrid support Ashe
I'd get a malady and a hextech and a void staff (and sometimes a rageblade)
And throw clutch arrows into team fights, we won every game I played with that build.
25+ assists every game =P
In b4 you couldn't have been level 30.
I was.

His ulti does AP dmg so does his AoE farm ability.
Hextech IS NOT a pointless choice, it actually makes sense. Cutlass for the damage/LS (even though his passive is good enough) Revolver for the spell vamp and a slight increase to his ulti's dmg. So he's stacking heal on heal Ulti+Spellvamp.
It's not completely worthless, considering he was able to destroy 3 people with relative ease it would appear to be an effective build. The Frozen mallet is what I'm kinda going WTF over....HP/Dmg and a slow when he (Nasus) has Wither and Triforce. Last Whisper over a Black Cleaver or Brutalizer though is also rather silly. Depends if the Ryze was going Mana Build, Glacial Shroud, BV, or RoA fist (I typically skip RoA on Ryze depending on who I'm fighting) the Ali going AP or pure Tank? Poppy AD or AP?
Either way LW might have been a weak choice unless the other 2 people on the team were Trinity Tanks or Pure Tanks.
Conceptually it seems rather weak, in practice it might prove otherwise. I'd change LW up depending on the asmount of armor the other team is rolling with. Frozen mallet for a Sunfire I think, keep Mercs, Tri Force and Gunblade. Interesting choice (Gunblade) but not a worthless one as others seem to think.

^My thought. Wither and Pwnforce should be enough.
To me, Hextech Gunblade seems viable. Haven't tried it yet, though. I'm just more of a Triforce-tank-Nasus-thing, and I believe there's better options. Also seems like the Gunblade active could be a bit of an overkill, dunno.

It is pointless because you get reduced heal from AoE if I remember correctly. Also you're not going to be doing that much damage and the entire point of Spirit Fire is for team fights to lower armor for your team to kill enemies quicker, not to do damage. The ratios on Nasus are bad and the Spell vamp isn't going to be useful at ****ing all. His passive is fine for keeping his health sustained. Especially if you're last hitting with Q.

His ratios are ****, but I can still see the thought process behind the choice. Why get Hextech Gunblade on Morde over Will of The Ancients? His Q scales off AD right? The thought process is solid, the effect might not be AS effective as one would like but it doesn't mean for his situation it wasn't an effective choice. The biggest blunder of the build was Frozen Mallet on top of Tri Force, not his choice for Hextech Gunblade.
With all that said he still effectively DPSd and was able to overcome 3 champs in succession. It's not about what is built ALL the time. It's about why (at least to me); does that make sense?
Regardless of what we theorize this strange Nasus build apparently worked. It's something worth trying in the least. (With some variations)

^^ yea really
When did "theory crafting" start meaning "shutting down any idea that isn't normal or conventional (usually without bothering to try it first)"?
