for me xin is a fun , easy to play, jungler. Of course i have my bad spree , and i must say i have a really bad % in ranked with him jungler. Anyway in normal i manage to win and to have fun with him.
NO xin is not bad right now, as u said he should be builded with a mix of durability and damage, he can play the role of assassin or bruiser.
There are so much items that fits xin zhao :D
Where do You find more difficulty? ganking? falling behind in level? being invaded in your jungle?using his skillset?

I've tried many build from the mobafire page, and a very beefy build but it didn't work out as well. I start with the classic jungle item(the Lattern) and then go for something like
Frozen Mallet, but still it doesn't work out the way I want.

-Come back with your shield,or on it-
I feel like I get vaporised in combat. Or I sometimes do less damage than I was supposed to, leading to many enemies escape my gangs, or getting killed sometimes in the process. And I could use some tips in every aspect of him I guess.

To be honest, jungle
Xin Zhao will be pretty squishy for most of the game, as you don't get as much farm as a top lane
Xin Zhao would.
I would recommend a build that goes something like this:
Hunter's Machete + 5
Health Potions
Madred's Razors +
Boots
Wriggle's Lantern
Tier 2 boots (
Mercury's Treads,
Ninja Tabi, or
Berserker's Greaves)
The Brutalizer
Phage
Black Cleaver
Frozen Mallet
Optional Items:
Bloodthirster,
Warmog's Armor,
Randuin's Omen,
Maw of Malmortius, and
Guardian Angel
I haven't played Xin jungle much, but that build above should work as a rough outline.

agree with that,
do not rush mallet, it's very expensive for early game...just as jpikachu said.
Try

Do not cast E on the enemy ganked everytime at first, try to position yourself well and land yor full Q+W , use E when the enemy try to escape; when u are level 6 or more the best move is to cast R in their face as u come in lane to push them back, again u have to land Q+W and if he manage to escape again cast E.
Since you will never fit the role of the fulltank, you simply do not have to stay in the middle of the
teamfight too long, i don't think u are a good initiator since jumping in the middle of the enemies and cast your R will just kill you the most of the time, your E+R in teamfight is more a disengage ability, and with good timing and focus you can really put enemy's carry in bad position.
If I said something really wrong, please guys correct me. It will help me too :D

That seems like a decent build, I'd test this out sir!

Don't build bloodthirster as a jungler please, you are not solo top xin, and you do not have the luxury.
Unless you get fed. Which is why it's listed more as an optional item.

I wanted to master
The bigger problem I think I have is that I can't find a good balance between damage and durability.
I've used a lot of builds, most of them from the site we all knoww and love ;) (Mobafire). Still I haven't found anything that made me happy. It just doesn't seem to work. Is Xin now so weak and should not be played or I am just building him wrong?? I could really use some guidance here.
Drop any suggestions you may have below, would really appretiate it!
P.S: Masteries and runes look pretty str8 forward but still if there is anything better available I would love to hear about it! Thank you in advance.
