Never said anything about rushing it, heck I even used the word rusty... Also armor/MR increase your effective health.
Dorans shield got the largest buff out of the 3, might actually take it over the regrowth pendant since it's 10 hp per 5 now as opposed to 8, closer to the 14 that allows one to lane for quite a long time.

The 
Doran's Blade buff seems rather small. I think it will be less popular unless it's buffed more.

Since I am still waiting on the patch to download can someone give me the prices of the Doran's items now. Doran's blade would work since that is the main item most of my builds use.

Idk bout you, but when I have a Doran's item I usually have it til around mid-late game and only consider it worthwhile if I know I'll be farming to compensate.
It really boils down to your play style though.
