^ Actually even Dyrus will occasionally build Sivir as a tanky DPS.
HSGG does the 2 bloodthirster with 2 PD's and a GA approach.

Sivir's spell shield does block effects like Mark of the Assassin and things like that. It just says "No".
I'd love to see her Boomerang Blade have slow on it, but... that might be pushing it.

^ Maybe, but you don't really build AP for Sivir the same way that you don't really build AD for Akali. A vast majority of their damage comes from one source. Not saying it's worthless, but I think you get the idea.

This is true, but I feel the the benefits could justify building say.. an early Rageblade, or an eventual gunblade, using the cutlass as a substitute for more common life stealing counterparts.
Holy Toledo, Batman, It's Cho'Gath!
^ Bonus magic dmg? o_O

Sivir is a Sivir, and can fit several roles quite well.
Sivir's ability to stack a Warmog's Armor in, like, 2 minutes (maybe a little longer lol) gives her merit as a tanky DPS. She also has an attack speed enhancer which means she can get away with building less AtS and still deal plenty of damage and be able to backdoor.
She may not be a support, but her ult still allows her to be a supportive member of the team. Items like Zeke's Harbinger and Aegis of the Legion are perfectly decent on her, and give you a bit more supportiveness while keeping you firmly a DPS or tanky DPS.
She can also be a killer AD carry.
Sivir is quite balanced. She has a way to counter AD carries ( Fleet of Foot) and a way to counter AP carries ( Spell Shield). The main thing most people do wrong is never learn to use Spell Shield, which is one of the things that really does make a good Sivir. Another common mistake is forgetting you've left Ricochet on. Late game this makes no difference, but early game this will not only push your lane, it will also burn through your mana.
Sivir doesn't need much other than a buff to auto attack range imo.

Sivir should only ever go pure ad, especially once the patch comes out fixing her (i say fixing, loosely)
Also, wtf is with people not knowing about that patch...
