The bears in the Golden Compass were much more impressive. They could stand tall, slender, and their arms were not giant globs of muscle. But that didn't stop them from exuding tons of intimidation and power."

People will always hate on change. No game is perfect, people always find things to pick at, and the bigger it is, the harder it is to make perfect.
And you can't get bigger then an Open World Multi-race PVP MMORPG.
All in all, Blizzard did okay.
