Okay, one question: do you have a Lenovo laptop? Because they are known to have vulnerabilities and backdoors.

Your PC doesn't suddenly turn vulnerable from an insecure network. At most the info you're sending might be read by other parties, they can't hijack your PC from that.
I have an Acer Aspire (V3-572), and, as far as I can tell, the newer ones have random issues with their webcams, because people are regularly complaining about similar issues to mine.

I was barely awake earlier, so I wasn't thinking very clearly. I know people can't just hijack your PC, but the fact that the camera was on and I couldn't disable it was enough to make it really hard for me to sleep, even though my laptop was in an entirely different room.

Hi, I'm thinking about building a desktop computer for 1000-1500 range.
what's the best build in that price range where I can be able to have high FPS in league (basically being able to stream and play in high quality). Oh, and I would like to have fast internet, so whichever part has network capabilities I want it to be pretty good. (Not computer building savvy).
Thanks.

EDIT:
So far this is what I think I should get:
CPU - Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (????)
CPU COOLER - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
MOTHERBOARD - ????
SSD - Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
GPU - MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card
HHD - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
RAM - ????
PSU - ????
DESKTOP - ????

Am I missing any other parts besides the ones I don't know about yet?

Do you justw ant to use it for gaming or do you do want to do anything else(other than streaming) with it?

Few things to note:

1. A 1500$ PC is super overkill for League (even league streaming). Streaming gets me 100+ FPS on max settings on a much older rig.

2. For a build at this budget I'd recommend getting the newer i7-6700k, DDR4 is dropping in price fast so it won't cost you much more.

3. I just went ahead and configured something I would go for at your budget and wishes:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($369.90 @ B&H)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($169.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($89.49 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($50.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card ($329.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case ($97.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1308.11
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Few things to be noted with this build are:

* if you not decide to overclock your CPU, you can save some money by getting a B150/H170 motherboard

* case is personal preference, but Phanteks makes great cases

- Get a webcam
- Get an extra wire to make the DVD player work :P

Hey guys, what's your opinion on integrated batteries (laptops, obviously)? I've had my laptop for 5 years and I started noticing that the battery duration isn't the same as it used to be. This wasn't a huge surprise for me, but I want to know for future reference if integrated batteries are better than removable ones (I know that even if I were to take this one out, it'd still lose life over the years, but would it lose as much?).

Thanks in advance.

For the motherboard how is the MSI Z170 series motherboards compared to the ASUS one? They are a tad cheaper so I'm wondering if there's any noticeable differences if I didn't buy the ASUS motherboard.
Also, with the Power Supply, how good is that compared to the EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply? (How much wattage will I actually need for a gaming pc?)
As for everything else, I'm going to just get 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston Sticks because I don't think I'll need that much memory anyways.

& should I just downgrade to an i5? I heard i5's are good for gaming but not so much at video rendering, photoshopping, or streaming which I will need in the future.

@Bryun
You picked an old CPU. You should be picking one from the 6000 series, like the one Vyn recommended.

This is the only part I'd maybe recommend switching. If streaming is a focus then Nvidia seems like the better choice, because of NVENC.
Sure, Intel has QuickSync, but I've never gotten that to work with OBS with satisfactory results. NVENC is very easy to set up and has good quality with lots of options.

How are the other parts I mentioned above & what video card would you recommend around the same price-range/cheaper?

Gonna do something advanced or specific? If not then both will probably do just fine.

You need about 500W for a powerful PC. With overclocking maybe a little more. 650 is plenty enough unless you're gonna get several GPUs (which I don't recommend).

Maybe, both will probably do just fine. Both should have H.265 and VP9 acceleration (for video encoding), so just pick one depending on the speed you think you'll need.

GTX970 should probably be a decent choice.
