Match History

This game I had someone reasonably competent in all lanes. Whew. Feels good man. Our Vayne was Plat last season. Must have been some seriously rough placements! I mostly played don’t F with my laners sort of counterganking early game, but did help with a couple of kills and snagged a couple myself. I wasn’t sure about the Voli pick, but felt we needed some beef in our line-up and I like playing him other than I seriously wish you could pivot his Q like Gnar does with GNAR!. Making sure you are coming in at a decent angle for a Thundering Smash toss is a little tedious.

Okay ADC feels a lot better than support to me. I still have to work on not fat fingering Valkyrie in the middle of a scrum, but other than that I think I played reasonable well. My one death was from a screw up when I tracked a little too far out against Ahri who had already ambushed me from a bush. I suspected she was in there so I wasn’t completely surprised. My fingers just didn’t keep up with my brain so I took more damage than I should have. Then while we were cat and mousing she caught me because I was trying to gauge the position of the rest of my team relative to her team. One time where checking the map wasn’t the greatest idea. Instead I should have just completely backed out rather than greeding.

I was wondering how Enchantment: Runic Echoes might work on Udyr. Apparently it works pretty well. Nautilus said he had seen it four time today, Runic into tank, and it had won all four games for or against.

Match History

Went Wukong as I like Wu into Gnar as Cyclone screws up Hop / Crunch. Sion held up pretty well against Gnar with some ganks from me to help him out. Sion also had some decent roams and ultimates.

I am pretty sure that Udyr forgot to set his masteries, so that didn’t hurt matters.

I got to hold lanes a few times and help shove so that gave me some extra XP and gold which was nice since I could then invest that back into items and getting 11th level for the 2nd point in your ultimate which makes it do a lot more damage.

Overall it felt like a game that went by the numbers so I was able to look for plays rather than reacting to plays.

Not game play related per se, but I love the new Radiant Wukong skin.

Heard a tip today during LCS that if you are playing Graves if you aren't in melee range of a turret you are attacking a couple of the pellets will miss reducing the amount of damage you do to it.

Edit should have said the above better. If you are at max AA range two pellets will miss the turret. So if you want to ensure that as many pellets as possible are hitting the turret, being in melee range will eliminate any question. (you don't have to be quite that close though).

Match History

That was at or near a 1000 stack Nasus. We caught him out at around 700 stacks and it took every one of us to kill him. I though we were screwed after he single handedly turned a later team fight around on us, costing us our Mid outer tower. However we caught them bunched up a couple of times and were able to unload all our damage taking out everyone except Nasus. That got us a base tower and inhibitor, however we overstayed trying to win the game right then and couldn’t get it done fast enough. We started Baron after that while I had The Package, they came over to try to stop us from doing Baron and Fizz went over the wall to take out someone so I went over after him and we were quickly able to kill two of their team and then mop up the rest. Nasus got away and was their to defend the Nexus turrets. Tahm Kench just kept eating him and depositing him away from our team so we could take the towers and Nexus unmolested.

I was happy with my shot calling and my team working around me having the package most of the time. E.g. I typed in chat I had The Package, lets go mid and take their tower and we did. Many games you don't get put The Package to good use as its and awkward moment or your team just doesn't work with you.

Thresh set up a kill and assist for me early game and the lane was won there though it took us quite a bit longer to get the tower down. Kennen was crushing Top. Yorick Mid apparently did fine against Lux.

Bronze 1 baby!!!! XD

New new mouse went berserk mid game. I’ve gotta figure out what key combination or button is completely screwing up my mouse settings. Fortunately I was so far ahead and setting my mouse movement rate down to 0 in game made it manageable.

Sad one. Fed Corki and Twitch and a Rek'Sai to tank and knock-up and we never tried to actually team fight. Just run in one after another and die or get caught in ones and twos across the map. Feels bad man.

I had had one stupid death greeding for Lucian and suicided once to only kill Ezreal when I had the package and they were in our base. I should have just used my normal Valkyrie to go over our base wall after I unloaded on them.

Not sure on the Last Whisper on Corki but I wasn’t able to chew threw Alistar or Poppy fast enough for my liking. Also should have bought Infinity Edge before Bloodthirster. Oops.

Match History

Well the trial run of Enchantment: Runic Echoes on Udyr went pretty well. You can chase down anyone. Now it will take a while to kill them when you catch them. His burst isn’t the strongest, but they aren’t getting away from you sans tower or the rest of their team interfering with you.

Our Talon fed Cassiopeia five kills in about that many minutes so we weren’t off to and auspicious start. Galio was ready to pull his hair out if he had any to pull out. Even trying to get Talon to switch lanes with him. But since Galio was winning his lane and Bot lane was doing okay, we were eventually able to pull ahead of the other team to the point that they opted to surrender.

The idea behind this build seems to be run everyone down. Get yourself and your team ahead and then if you want or need to, you can split push with the Zz'Rot Portal minions to make up for what you lack in tower taking ability.

After Trinity Force you could opt for a number of items depending on what you need. Thinking a Sterak's Gage would round out the build nicely as it would give you a chunk of health that you aren't getting from anywhere else.

Twas fun. Will try again.

Oh, Udyr tip I heard today while watching the LCS cast. If you are vs a Fiora. Run up to her and wait for the Riposte animation to complete and then tag her with the stun via Blazing Stampede. That way you avoid getting stunned.

Match History

Honestly should have played Vayne for this one if I was any good at her. I thought about Miss Fortune but wasn't comfortable that our "tank" line would actually tank so I opted for Corki who I am comfortable playing.

No team cohesion. I think Garen showed up for a fight once. Lee Sin got three of us killed when he wouldn’t get off Dragon after we came out ahead in a skirmish so were low health. They ended up being too tanky, so it didn’t matter that much if we took out Twisted Fate and LeBlanc.

On and special mention of Lee Sin kicking two sure kills away from me. I realize that it isn't the easiest skill to use right, but oy it can be costly if you do screw it up.

I don’t know why Taric switched from Sona to Taric after he saw their team composition. They mostly do magic damage. I would say that laning went okay, but honestly Taric couldn’t seem to figure out that Tahm Kench would just eat him if he walked up to him. He ended up getting me killed twice by getting caught out. Once trying to take out a ward which really wasn’t that important at the time.

Notes for myself. Would like two bans. Graves and Tahm Kench. But sadly I only get one.

I need to manage my mana better. I’ve worked on it, but still have some work to do. And for some reason today I was activating Gatling Gun instead of Valkyrie at times, where normally I don’t have that issue. Wasn’t any real inopportune times, but still.

Match Hisotry

This one went more smoothly than the last. All lanes winning or going even. Rek'Sai liked my pink in our tribush so he came over to give our lane some love a couple of times. Had one good Special Delivery that helped us finish off some kills and then got to finish off Caitlyn who was bringing up the rear in that engage.

Malphite was aggressive at mostly the right times, so I didn’t have to worry about what my support was up to.

Their Alistar wasn't managing his mana well, just randomly head butting one of us to really no avail. I don't believe he hit a Headbutt + Pulverize combo once. Caitlyn was extremely frugal with her mana. If her and Alistar were in sync she could have probably gotten off a few Piltover Peacemakers on either Malph or myself.

Match History

Tried a slightly different build this go round. Going Iceborn Gauntlet second gets you your Sheen plus some armor fairly early. The Abyssal Mask was gratuitous since the rest of my team did little magic damage. Being three levels higher than some of my opponents let me survive and pick up a triple kill late in the game, despite me completely wiffing on stunning an ulting Katarina, sorry about that team. Hopefully, me killing them all afterwards made up for it.

One dumb death, when I got a little to deep under their mid base turret. They landed all their CC on me. And then Pounced on my quite literally XD.

One thing I have been trying to ask myself, is what objective can I or we get now. Farming and killing champions are just so you can take objectives. Objectives then are greater than farming or killing champions. Therefore, if I give up this farm or give up chasing that champion because an objective is open, then give up the farm and give up chasing the champion no matter how low health they are.

I may experiment with getting a Tracker's Knife for more vision control. Being able to kill off vision and get vision since as Udyr you are going to be running all over the map anyway seem like it could be more powerful than an empowered Smite.

So far the most annoying enemy jungler I've run into as Udyr has been Lee Sin. He probably won't kill you unless you are really low and out of mana (at least at my level of play), but he can f with your jungle clear. Udyr really likes Blue at least on first clear. And he can out gank you early game if you aren't focused on it.
