I'm gonna confess, despite what it says in the changelog I haven't finished completely updating the guide. Not sure about a BotRK > BC build, I will ask the Guide Team however. I'm hoping to have the guide fully updated later tonight or tomorrow.

Please update :D

QuinnMains (11) | February 19, 2019 4:33pm
Will do! I was actually discussing it today with the Guide Team, should be updated in the next few days! In the meantime, I recommend going Lethality Item > Shiv > IE.

KheopsTV | February 20, 2019 11:30am
I actually do Electrocute(or phase rush if i need to kite). and for the build Youmou / Tabi / Statik / IE / PD / GA and that works pretty well

Gonna update this soon? Stormrazor first is no longer viable. Best seems to be Ghostblade into Statikk into IE for Top, and IE into Statikk into Essence Reaver/Dmg Lethality for ADC.

Will do! I was actually discussing it today with the Guide Team, should be updated in the next few days! But the builds you mentioned seem to be pretty good!

I really disslike how less and less options in builds u guys are making. the down stairs part of the text is well done but the builds are just garbage in my opionon.

As opposed to your guide? Taken from a Reddit post about your guide being updated: "Lol first thing I see when I click that link is Conqueror Quinn with Barrier. Is this satire?". Please don't confuse problems your guide has with our guide. The builds in our guide are what the vast majority of Quinn mains are playing. They are approved by our Guide Team which is compromised of Diamonds - Challengers. I can say with confidence that they are certainly not "garbage". But of course, you are free to believe whatever you want and build whatever you want: it is your elo that is on the iine. If you don't like the builds in our guide, simply don't build them.

Have you tried these in the jungle at all? If so were they any good? I have a hard time finding runes for Quinn jungle nowadays it seems.
1
QuinnMains (11) | December 3, 2018 4:02pm
The runes/build here should work fine in the Jungle, perhaps with the exception of the GA build which is designed more for lane. The guide will be getting an update soon however because of preseason.

ever tought about going for storm razor then essence reaver and then some crit? those 20% cdr and the 50% attack speed after going out of the ult is pretty spicy. Can easily get to the atk speed cap.
Also, toughts on the current dark harvest compared to electrocute?
Oh and 10/10 build totally the kind of stuff this game needs

QuinnMains (11) | November 26, 2018 4:42pm
Essence Reaver used to be on the guide but it was decided that it was not worth it and was removed. I have not heard of anyone building it currently, nor has there been much discussion on it recently.

Regarding current runes, there is still a lot of testing going on by the Guide Team and so we currently do not have an answer. The guide will be updated at some point in the near future when we have come to some conclusions.

Fantastic guide. I always wanted to play Quinn and i've had great results playing her. Recently you removed the Crit build and now i'm curious. Is it not viable anymore? This is the only build i've used. Have i been missing out by not playing the Burst build? Thanks in advance.

QuinnMains (11) | October 20, 2018 1:10pm
Thank you! Indeed, the guide was recently updated and the Crit Build was removed, whilst the SR > Shiv build was made #1. The SR build is the most common build for Quinn these days. I wasn't sure about removing the Crit Build however, as nothing had really changed to make it unviable. However, after talking to the Guide Team and asking the community on Discord and on this Reddit post, I have decided that the build is not popular enough to warrant being on the guide. I would recommend trying the other builds, but if you have had success with the Crit Build then by all means carry on with it. However as you can see from the comments on the post, the SR Build is a lot more popular these days, as is the GA Build.

Great guide, I believe the part about her ult isn’t completely up to date with her currently though, as champion damage no longer cancels her ult. I also would like to propose a build path for her that’s sustainable but does a large amount of damage. If you buy an essence reaver you can get a lot of harrier procs after ending your ult because off the large amount cdr on your abilities from er’s passive. Along with this build I would include the stormrqzzor and throw In a infinity edge for the bonus peck damage after using an ability. This allows for burst that can be used on multiple targets in quick succession.

Hey, glad you liked it! Thanks for pointing out the mistakes about her ultimate, I have updated it to match the current state. Regarding your build suggestion, we actually used to have Essence Reaver on the guide but it got removed a while back due to being sub-optimal and not a lot of people building it. Since then I haven't seen many people mention it. That being said, I suggest you post your build suggestion on the subreddit (or Discord) where it can be seen by more people who can then give their opinions on it :)

This is a really in-depth build, I like it! Especially since I've been trying Quinn out for a while now and I really wanted to try and main her. The sections were full of nifty information that I kept in mind as I practiced her. The bit I liked best was the detailed information about runes, I get confused on those a lot. Salute to Quinn Mains!

How long do you think it'll take until you update this for 8.16? And are the burst runes still viable after they mostly all got nerfed?
1
QuinnMains (11) | August 16, 2018 12:08am
I can't say for certain, it depends on how long it takes for our high Elo players to make up their minds on the matter. That being said, I expect builds will stay the same with maybe only some minor rune changes.

Wish there where more community guides like this one on this site. It really seems to be the best way to get all the small tips only one-tricks know about into a guide. Great job, I guess coordinating the writing of this guide was quite an effort :)

PS: It is not fun getting hit by a plane when farming sidelane. Pls stop doing that to me, ty.

QuinnMains (11) | August 6, 2018 4:19am
Thank you very much, means a lot to hear you say that! We'll try to avoid sidelane fly-bys ;)

- Sir Wellington's Review Shop -

Sorry for the late response! Since you haven't had much time between exams to digest Dekar's review, I'll mostly skip past the things he already mentioned and see if I can point out anything else useful.
Cheat Sheet

- Consider putting Duskblade of Draktharr in the "Also Good" section. I haven't played Quinn myself so correct me if I'm wrong, but Duskblade looks like it would be a fantastic item (especially if you get Maw instead of Sterak's). The more flat armor pen you stack, the more effective it becomes because of the way armor works.

- What's your reasoning for taking Fervor of Battle over Thunderlord's Decree ? Are you setting up Quinn for sustained damage or burst? From my experience playing against her, Quinn is a very bursty marksman like Graves or Jhin. The flat armor pen from the Cunning tree would also work a bit better with the flat pen from your items than the 7% from the Ferocity tree would.

Pros/Cons

- Look for different icons to use other than and . They clash horribly with the green/red theme of this section. (brown and red = ugly together, dark green and fiery orange/red = ugly)

Spells

- I would take out Barrier entirely. The damage it mitigates is almost always less than the damage mitigated from Exhaust, and Exhaust has more utility with its slow and armor/mr shred. For example, ask Zed mains how much they hate Exhaust :P

Runes

- Take out the Greater Quintessence of Critical Damage suggestion. That's one of 4 ways to increase your DPS via crits (AD, AS, Crit chance, crit dmg), and it's the only one that is completely useless until you get solid amounts of crit chance and only marginally useful until you get solid amounts of AD. If you want to increase the damage of your crits, you're better off going with flat AD, which still increases your crit damage, but more importantly gives you a substantial bonus early on.

Masteries

- Once again, the colors here clash a lot (bright red/green christmas theme vs. cyan vs. bright yellow vs. bluish/purple/soft gold chapter banner). Think of a theme for the guide, some color scheme that you can really own and make people think of your guide when they see that color. The theme of my guide is dark orange, for instance. I don't have every word coded in orange of course, but it's one of the few colors I choose to accent my guide with, and the others are always complimentary colors (grey and dark blue work well with orange, while pink and green do not). Since you have nice looking chapter headers already, try out blue, purple, gold or soft/light brown and see how they work together since you already have those colors in your headers.

Items

+ I LOVE your useful stats setup at the beginning of this section!

- Wait, now I'm confused. If Essence Reaver is a core item here, why is it absent from the cheat sheet?

- Your Builds section should be reformatted, maybe even from scratch. Up to this point you've done an excellent job of including icons/pictures in just the right amounts, but here you don't have any at all. There's some unnecessary text as well:

Quoted:
Right, so let's get down to business. The first thing you should know is that you should NOT be building exactly the same thing every single game. Just because we suggested a full build doesn't make that build the best build. The point here is that you should adapt your build based on what the enemy is building.

It can be simplified down to something more like this:

Quoted:
First things first: you should NOT be building exactly the same thing every single game. Just because we suggested a full build doesn't make that the best build. Instead, you should adapt your build based on what the enemy is building.

See the difference? Instead of explicitly stating "here's what I'm going to say" and then "here's what I'm saying", just state your thoughts immediately to make it less cluttered and reduce the size of your paragraphs here.

- (Also in your Builds section): You can make this look quite nice with a column, table, or some sort of box with example builds in it. For instance, you could have a small column on the right side titled "USUAL CORE BUILD", with -> Boots -> / / below it. Same goes for your ADC and Mid builds. Experiment!
Laning/Jungling

- I won't mention colors anymore, but if you decide to change them, make sure to scour your whole guide since they clash here as well, and probably elsewhere.

+ Very nice formatting here!

- Consider replacing the artwork with a relevant picture, GIF, or video describing the content in each section. If you want to keep the artwork (which is fine since it looks nice), it would still be worth adding gameplay visuals to this section because of how helpful they are.

- The Top, Mid, ADC, and Jungle sections are fine, but Splitpushing and Teamfighting are pretty dense. Break them up into two or more paragraphs, or condense them.

Conclusion:

Great guide! It's well laid out and has just about everything necessary. I feel like I know how to play Quinn well now, which means it's effective. There's only just a few itemization parts worth questioning/changing (Essence Reaver, Duskblade, Fervor vs. Thunderlord's), and a few formatting issues (walls of text, colors, minimal gameplay visuals) but aside from that, this guide is tight. Have a 4 out of 5 and my upvote!

Hey there. I finally got round to making the changes from your review. Although I am not quite done yet (I am planning on doing a big update on the item, runes and masteries section), I have changed some of the stuff and I can at least answer some of the questions you posed.

Quinn can be set up for both sustained damage and burst. We usually take FoB if we are against tanks, if we are ADC or if we have a more mid/late game ADC-orientated playstyle. This is because these things all require sustained damage. On the other hand, we tend to take TLD when we are against squishy opponents, when we are Jungle or Mid and when we have a more Assassin-orientated playstyle. These things value the burst damage more than the sustained damage from FoB.

I am considering taking out Barrier, but I need to confirm some other things.

Essence Reaver is only absent from the Core/Pen build cheat sheet. This is be ER is only taken when playing ADC. You can find it on the cheat sheet for the ADC build.

I am also planning to add more videos/images to the laning/jungling sections just like you suggested.

I am going to have to disagree with you on your last point. Although the Splitpushing and Teamfighting are longer than Top,Mid,ADC and Jungle, I still think they are manageable. I might trim them a bit but they will mostly stay as they are.

I hope I answered some of your questions. I am still working on changing a lot of things, but because I need to ask for everyone's opinion before I can make any changes, it's a lengthy process. Sorry for taking so long to do it.

Once again thank you for your review.

Thanks for the review, much appreciated! I didn't even think about how the colors work together, that is a very good suggestion. In terms of reformatting the builds section, I was already planning to do that (I have some cool new ideas and stuff). I also have some ideas in mind about adding pictures/videos to the lanining/jungling section. This Friday is my second to last exam (my last exam is on the 27th). That means that I will soon be able to get to work with this guide. Once again thanks for your time and effort!
