Tossed my 2 cents in there.
My main point for this/that thread.

If you think you don't need guides, you could be wrong. Looking at a large amount of guides and seeing people's playstyles can inspire you to try to improve your game. EVERYONE has something to improve on. Inspiration/curiosity can do wonders.

read both topics. Both were realy... childish and "I R pr0 PlayerZ" made.
Freedom of speech for the creator of that original topic... but no freedom of speech for low lvl players that would like to write their own guide/build. That is sad. I dont mind if som1 plays with 5982982 warmogs if it works for him at the level he is at. Damn i was owning with Alistar with a BF sword at lvl 5.
I also gave up on both EU/US official forums. You barely find anything usefull on those... its made for people that accualy dont have enaugh brain power to search in google for more sutable communities.

@Jet:
It's ironic because they're the ones complaining about guides they "never look at" ?
@DEWO:
You say people without brain power go there.
Riot Staff post and read topics regularly.
Doesn't that concern you in regards to where the game's headed?
I feel it's being able to see through the thick of idiocy and ignorance that you can learn to find a good place in community to suit your needs. Ignoring the QQs doesn't mean they won't affect you. :/

But feeding the QQers attention makes the riot staff think they're right. Hopefully they're only getting balance opinions from the higher ELO players because wasting their time with sub 1000ELO players thinking that everything in the world is OP and only their main should be buffed or whatever. I mean sure Riot looks at that forum more because most of the population of the game post over there. Although, most people that DO post over there are ****ing idiots.

I haven't been too impressed with the official LoL forums. When I started out playing LoL, I came straight here. I didn't even bother with the LoL forums. I also recently introduced my friend to LoL, and he went straight for the official LoL forums. I tried to introduce him here, but he hasn't quite latched on. He might lurk (and I know he looks at the guides), but he doesn't participate in the community.
Aaanyways, he's always looking at the forums on his iPod in the middle of class and showing me stuff. 90% of it is utter ****. For instance, he said "But people on the LoL forums say a full-tank team is OP!" I was actually appalled at that statement. Also, Adonikam posted a forum topic about how "skill>team comp", even though team comp has a much more significant effect on the game than the OP claimed. Lastly, my friend showed me a forum topic saying that the game was 100x better in the beta. From what I've heard and noticed, it seems as though Riot was a budding company when it came to balancing; if what I've heard is true, Shaco/Twisted Fate/Soraka/Heimerdinger were all INCREDIBLY overpowered, and Riot decided to nerf them into absolute oblivion. Shaco and Twisted Fate recovered with a shift of metagame, but heimerdinger and soraka were left in the dust.
Now, Riot likes to nerf in baby steps (I.E. Anivia - they nerfed her minorly then basically reversed it entirely, and Rammus, who they nerfed twice before people kept QQing and they had to nerf him until people could stop mega-carrying as him), which is honestly the best route to take. People who have an emotional attachment to that champion aren't hurt, and people who oppose that champion are satisfied.
In conclusion, I'd say that the LoL forums have a variety of people who go there mainly to get their complaints heard by Riot. I don't think many of these complaints are justified either.

I agree.
People are always complaining about stuff that doesn't really deserve to be complained about. for example, ever since Tryndamere has been released, people have been screaming and calling him OP, when they don't realize that he is arguably one of the hardest champs to master. And if he is all that OP like they say, why don't they play him? I always ask that, and I never get a response.
People complain about things like Jax being OP, when there is a huge counter to him,

People just think that if someone beats them with something, it is automatically OP, and their main champ is always needing buffs. They just sit and whine about every little thing that they can't handle.
For example: I was playing Garen, and got fed like a mad man early game. So when I went 1v1 with TF and won, his response went a little something like this: "HOW THE **** DID YOU BEAT ME? GAREN IS SO ****ING OP HE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OUT OF THIS ****ING GAME".
Excuse the vulgar language and caps, but that's how it went. That is proof that people only see what they want to see, and people only think something is wrong if it doesn't go their way.
People on the official forums yell OP at everything, and can't realize that Riot is becoming very good at balancing, and their complaining has most likely caused some unneeded nerfs. People on th official forums are, for the most part, hard-headed people who can't realize the beauty of balance.
What I'm trying to say is, the official forums are full of whiners and QQers, and anything that should be discussed is better off if done on a place like MOBAfire or Leaguecraft.

Any ship can be a minesweeper... once.
@ShadowReign757:
Although mindless QQing is bad, your examples aren't all that great either.
1. People don't want to have to play Tryndamere just because (they think) he's OP.
People have preferences, and want to be able to combat other champions without mirroring them.
2. Not everyone can take Sword of the Divine just because of Jax.
Having to build to counter one specific champion is anti-fun as described by Zileas in Riot.
That's why Stealth is getting reworked.
3. Pre-or-Post Garen nerf?
That's a rather extreme example of an idiot. You don't hint anything about how you respond to that. lol :P
A TF shouldn't 1v1 a Garen in any unfed scenario... >_>
4. Discussing anything worthwhile should be done on mobafire/leaguecraft?
Where Riot can't see?
I've seen plenty of posts on LoL forums with meaningful analysis or insightful ideas that Riot recognizes.
Discussing it on here doesn't get anyone anywhere. It's just a good place to vent.
Riot isn't perfect, but a majority of the nerfs are justified.
A lot of them respond to QQs too, so QQs don't necessarily mean they're uncalled for, it just gets annoying after a while.

My bad, let me do some clarification:
1. My point is that people say he is OP but don't play him because they know it isn't that simple, and any champ can be considered OP once mastered. People just say Trynd is easy for no reason, and if there is a reason why they say it, I don't know it. My guess is they are new, but I'm sure you get it.
2. I see TF's and Master Yi's complain about it all the time when I play Jax, it's quite humorous.
3. This is post nerf, but I was full AD and if he knew I was fed, he really shouldn't have yelled about him being OP for it, because he really isn't.
4. I agree I was pretty unclear here. What I meant was, if something is wrong in-game, such as a broken tool-tip or a bug or something, that should go straight to the official forums. But if you think something is OP or UP, you could probably get a better opinion by making a thread about it on here rather than on the official forums.
5. This was also quite unclear. What I meant was, if you want an opinion on an idea or a build or something, it is better to put it here. After you get some insight as to what you wanted, then it can go to the official forums as a suggestion to Riot.
Wow, number 5 was VERY unclear o_o
I need to learn to proofread.

If your attack is going well, you have walked into an ambush.
@ShadowReign757:
Mmk, except.
1. What about your comment about people playing Tryndamere to respond to Trynd then?
Like, if Champion X is even slightly OP, and you didn't like Champion X, but is the current FoTM and crushing you in every game, would you end up caving and opting to play that champion?
3. lols @ AD Garen.
5. That's invalid, there are just less random posts to sift through.
There are significantly more helpful posts on the official forums.
We're talking about a fan-site of maybe 1,000~5,000 vs an official site of over 200,000. lol

You need to log in before commenting.
you're writing a guide so you can teach new players / newbie players how to figure out this stuff
never said individual champions either. for example, if you write a guide on playing phantom dancer stacking yi and don't mention any alternative builds, then how is the person reading the guide (if he's new/bad) going to figure out that build is going to suck if you go in by yourself / get stunned / get focused?
but this is a different discussion. I said everything i wanted too already
