Once I was a prisoner. Like you.
Locked away by cowards and hypocrites. Left to die for the way I was born.
Nothing to live for but vengeance. Nothing to lose but my chains.
Yet in the revolution to come—our revolution—these chains will liberate us all.
And I will make sure we are never shackled again.

Passive: Petricite Burst

After casting a spell, Sylas’ next basic attack whirls his chains around him, damaging nearby enemies.

Q: Chain Lash

Sylas lashes out with his chains, damaging and slightly slowing enemies. After a brief delay, the intersection of the chains detonates, applying an increased slow and damaging enemies again.

W: Kingslayer

Sylas lunges at a target with a powerful strike, damaging them and healing himself. If the enemy is at low health, the damage is increased; if Sylas is at low health, the heal is increased.

E: Abscond / Abduct

Sylas dashes a short distance and shields himself.

For a short time, he can recast the ability to whip out his chains, stunning, damaging, and pulling himself to the first enemy hit.

R: Hijack

Sylas hijacks an enemy’s ultimate for his own use.

Enemies can still use their ultimates if Sylas takes them. Sylas can take an enemy’s ultimate whenever Hijack is off cooldown, but can’t hijack the same enemy for a while after.

Playing As Sylas

As Sylas, you lash out with merciless magical attacks, pummeling those who would oppose you with stone and steel. Beat down your enemies with repeated Chain Lash, following each flogging with a basic attack for a whirling Petricite Burst. Elude arrest and position yourself with Abscond before choosing a hostage to hook with Abduct. When your struggle becomes a matter of life and death, end the oppression with a crushing Kingslayer strike.

When you reach level six, unleash your full potential and Hijack the powers of your foes for a greater purpose—your own. By the late game you can seize multiple ultimates in quick succession, using the enemy team’s own strength against them and bringing your revolution to a violent conclusion. In the end, they will be the ones who kneel.

Tips And Tricks

  • Crush your foes in combat by weaving in basic attacks after each spellcast for maximum damage. The perfect sequence includes a Petricite Burst after every ability, leaving enemies bruised and broken—if not dead.

  • Consider all your options when Hijacking ultimates. What do you need most right now? What might be critical a little later? Seizing a brutal finishing move could clinch your current skirmish, but taking a powerful crowd control spell might win you the next teamfight.

  • You can’t Hijack the same enemy for a while after you take their ability, so plot out the full revolt before you start stealing ults. There’s no rush to use what you have, but hesitate too long and you’ll miss opportunities to unleash even more ultimates. Triumph over your opponents by picking the right time—and power—to turn against them.

Wow that ult is a game-changer. Is there any way to tell what ult he steals? Like can you just be in a teamfight and you have no idea whether he has a single-target ult like Garen or a team-fight ult like Amumu? If not, then that has even more potential. He's gonna be a pain for enemy teams. Can also be a little hard to communicate if your team doesn't know which ult you have. They might be prepared for the Amumu ult, but you whip out the Ashe arrow and your team is left wondering why the other team can still move.

If you watch the clip with his ult, it shows a little champion icon next to his health bar that indicates whose ultimate he's holding. I'm assuming that'll show for both allies and enemies. If not, you'll just have to pay attention to whose ult he yanks since there's a fairly obvious chain animation when he steals an ultimate.

RIGHT?!?!? I feel like it needs a looooot more attention. Everyone's too busy thinking about the ult lol. Remember when we were losing our **** about the Rhaast ult? XD We're not even taking into account that the ability acts as both a pseudo-execute and a sustain tool, THIS IS AN ABILITY THAT SHOULD NOT BE UNDERESTIMATED.

Oh, ok I didn't steal that. But there's still a lot of questions and possible issues. What if he takes a transformation ult, like Nidalee, Elise, or Jayce? What happens if he takes Renekton's, Alistar's or Nasus's? If he takes Illaoi's can he use her preexisting tentacles or does he have none, leaving it almost useless? He can also be counterpicked by taking champs who may not be useful to him like Udyr. Zoe will also leave some problems because he doesn't really gain any use from it except maybe with his q, which wouldn't be very powerful. Also with Corki's ult, does he get the empowered rocket or a normal one? What happens if he steals Karma's or Heimerdinger's ult? If he takes Blitzcrank, how long does he have the passive for? Can Sylas have several Cho'Gath stacks? And what about Gnar, does he need to work up enough rage to use it like Gnar? Does he have to choose an Oathsworn to use Kalista's ult? What about Taric, can he choose a bastion to ult? How many times can he use Kassadin's ult before it expires? What if he takes Orianna's ult, does it ult off of her orb or his own? How long can he use Quinn's ult for? If he steals Shaco's ult would it make another Shaco or a clone of himself? How many Teemo shrooms can he make? Would he gain the lifesteal from Warwick's ult or only if he builds the lifesteal? I have a feeling Riot's eventually going to release a video showing how each ult would work with him. I'm not looking for answers to any of this or even expecting anyone to read this, I'm just saying there are a lot of potential issues.
