I honestly like the guide, tbh I usually read guides to get insight's on support I'll be laning against to gain somewhat of a idea of what they're thinking; that aside the guide as a whole is very good as expected of the person who personally helped me fabricate my Yuumi guide and it will be very helpful in my Nami run that I will be doing in able to get a idea of Nami's kit. =3

Hey Wicked Cherry

After your comment I figured you contributed to a Nami guide too. I couldn't help to check it out! First of all it looks amazing! I can sure learn some from this layout. It's definitely in dept, and cute too! I love getting different perspectives on playing Nami wich is very exciting to see.

Also I think I've checked out your guide before but now I will give you the deserved upvote for it.

See you on the rift

Oh My Goodness! SENPAI

This guide is absolutely gorgeous! My guide is a literal dumpster fire in comparison! All your coding is so clean! The images are very nice and the borders fit the nami aesthetic perfectly! I still need to read the whole thing, I just saw your name after you commented on my guide and when I saw yours I literally said wow out loud. Really beautiful guide, You can tell you put a ton of effort into it. I NEED TIPS! LoL

While editing my guides, I saw you gave me advice on my Annie one, so I wanted to check out one of your guides and vote. ^^

I love what you did with your guide, it has a very artistic feel to it. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into it. You really go in depth when explaining her abilities and items, which I personally find very helpful, especially since I'm looking for more item options on Nami.

Hi there, I was coasting through the site looking for some inspiration on tables, hehee and came across your guide. So I'm going to give my two cents on it.

I'll start with aesthetics. You have these absolutely beautiful banners, but it feels like.. they don't really fit in this guide. I think they would fit better if you used some of the colors that are in the banners in the guide.

Just something I tried

You also use a lot of (different) colors to highlight important things in the text and at the item section that becomes a bit annoying to read. Lastly, there are a lot of sections in your guide where there is an empty space to the right... Not talking about the ability section/rune section here, but about the items, summoner spells & a small part of the warding section here. I personally think that not using the full width of the guide template here is just a waste.

Now onto the content, in the pros & cons section, start each point with a capital letter and try to make em concise for example "very adaptive playstyle possible" could be "Very adaptive playstyle". What about the fact that Nami has the best bm of all champs btw?
It might also be a good idea to revisit your rune section and question yourself whether you are actually explaining when you should take the alternative choices. Same for your item section, you have a lot of defensive & AP items listed but you don't explain when to get them.

Also some notes on individual items: is it worth to go Spellthief's Edge over Ancient Coin at all? (altho coin is gonna get removed anyway...). I see a lot of people build Athene's Unholy Grail when should you build it? Liandry's Torment doesn't give grievous wounds so building it is a waste of gold. Stuff like Void Staff, Luden's Tempest (especially) and Rabadon's Deathcap seem like a waste to me too. Your job isn't to do as much damage as possible but to make sure you carries do. If I were to go for an ap item on Nami I'd go with Rylai's Crystal Scepter.

And to limit the size of my comment, here is my last note: please revisit your summoner spell section. You mainly state what Exhaust and Ignite do and not when to take them. You can also shorten your description of Heal and just state you should take it when your marksman takes Barrier (in this case it's usually the marksman initiating the convo tho) I would also move the summoner spell section above the rune and item sections.

Hello Katasandra,

first of all, thank you for your detailed comment and sharing your honest opinion.

Banners: Thanks for your praise about the banners. The guide itself isn't quite where I'd want it to be but I also haven't figured out if I want new banners or if I should just adjust the guide colors to fit it. But thank you for pointing it out, it's a thing I apparently like to dismiss. I'll add it to my to do list to make sure I'll work on it once I find the time. :)

Just something I tried: Thank you so much for your idea but personally I don't like these border boxes in my guide because they wouldn't fit with the dividers which are delicate and svelte. In my opinion they don't really improve the general readability, so it's somewhat like a nice-to-have add-on. So please don't take it personally because I really appreciate that you've taken your time to tinker this but I don't think I will use it in my guide. :/ Sorry.

Colors for highlights: I use these colors because I thought that it would improve readability. So like blue color means mana while red means aggressive or damage. But if it's making it "annoying to read" I supposed it doesn't fulfill it's primary use.

Runes: I do plan to add a whole new chapter on synergies - like I have in my Yuumi guide if you’re interesting to take a peek - which will also explain rune choices and item picks more detailed. But please understand that it’s not as easy to tell a reader “pick this rune when you see a Thresh and that one if you’re facing a Kai'Sa or Soraka”. Rune choices depend a lot on the overall matchup as well as your team’s composition. This is why I’ve tried to suggest the most used and safest runes for most matchups. However, I do plan to add a more aggressive rune suggestion to the guide but lately I rarely have time to do much at all because I’m a full-time student at university in my Master’s degree and I work part-time as well. But aside from that I can’t fully agree with you that I haven’t explained the runes and alternative runes as to why they are a solid choice. But the more in-depth explanation will likely take place in the synergy chapter.

Items: I’m not sure I’ve ever played a game with Ancient Coin on Nami because it simply isn’t a good choice in most cases in my opinion. It will allow you to rush your core items faster, yes. But in return you’re losing out to the ability power scaling you’ll need for late game to retain your potential poke, even if you‘ve lost lane, you can still come back. Which leads to your second question of when to consider picking up Ancient Coin over Spellthief's Edge: Ancient Coin is not a bad item in general but since you’re most likely at least hitting an enemy with Nami‘s W Ebb and Flow, it makes more sense to improve the poke you’re landing anyway. So in conclusion, I would only pick up Ancient Coin if you know you’re probably losing the lane in advance and want to make sure you’ll still have your core items by the time mid game starts. It‘s fine if you personally prefer to pick up Ancient Coin rather than Spellthief's Edge but you‘re really missing out on scaling your ability power. For me, it‘s like saying: „ Nami‘s main purpose it to heal.“ It‘s not. That‘s like a third of her full potential. She also got CC you can use, as well as the mentioned poke and aggressive kind of playstyle she offers (not saying it’s wise to mainly go for it everytime). I suppose, this part is quite how you would like to play her - some prefer the aggressive side, some the healing and some the CC - and that‘s totally okay but it should be acknowledged that this all belongs to her.

Thanks for pointing out the thing about the grievious wounds of Liandry's Torment. I think it had had it before but I‘m not sure. What matters is that you still have the damage over time aspect of its passive. I think it’s a pretty nice thing to have but I’d only consider picking it up after you’ve completed your core build and you’re looking for more harass.
I will also improve the items section - I revised it and came to agree with you that the explanation of some items are rather short. However, I don‘t think that heavy AP items are „a waste“ as you’re putting it. As long as you’re only picking up one or two at max it’s okay - even works on Yuumi and she’s not necessarily more aggressive than Nami. They help you to scale further for late game - but I‘d only choose one (of two) of the mentioned ones if you‘re somewhat far ahead, like being 24-12 in mid or late game and the kills are spread evenly between your teammates.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a solid pick but not everyone is happy with it which makes it necessary to at least mention other items, apart from the usual support items like Twin Shadows.

Summoner Spells: Same for the runes - you asked for a more detailed explanation, this will be included in the matchup and synergy chapter. :)

Alright, I thank you for pointing out things that need to be improved as well as reminding me to update this guide. <3

Cheers, Wicked Cherry.

Hi again!

First of all, thanks for the long & detailed reply ^^

Aesthetics In the end it is all up to you, your opinion as author of the guide is final :p Don't worry about that table tho, it'll find its way in my table guide as a template, eventually.

Content As a guide author myself I do understand the struggles of explaining when to take stuff and when not. I tried to point out that there for example isn't a distinction in when you should take Nimbus Cloak vs Manaflow Band (just that both are good choices). But I guess a chapter on synergies can solve that.

Anyway, good luck with updating your guide! (and finding the time for doing so...)

Ah, the forgotten guide. 1 month later after the Lulu guide. Even my Pyke guide got past your Nami guide. Even thr Fizz guide is getting closer.

Onto the guide:
The design is fantastic as we already know its the same as the others guide that you have and to be honest, its ok to use the same design. I don't say its ugly. I repeat, i'm not saying ths guide its ugly! It looks fantastic. Just saying is better to use the same design as it will take a while to think for another design. Again, not saying its ugly, i love the design. Don't change it. My Pyke guide had the same design as the old design from my Fizz guide. Till i change it from Pyke and later on into the design on Fizz was everything changed being my Huge Update for the guide. Took me a week but was worth.

Really sucks that the guide isn't getting views or upvotes that frequently. Its like it dissapeared. But, I think everybody is ignoring it...

Again, fantastic looking guide, very good explained, but sucks that its not getting at least views. Ey, maybe one day it will be more popular as it is now. Don't worry Nami's friend Fizz will be always with her. :>

Love your guide. 💛

P.S: Really want to see a Pyke guide made by you. xD

Hey AchetezDuLait,
thank you for taking your time to check out my guide!
I'm really glad it made you want to play Nami. :) In case you actually did play her, let me know how that went and if you enjoyed it.
Thank you for your kind words and the upvote!
