Sorry , another comment , how do you play against Diana. Her q poke is so annoying and she gets me low then uses one of her abilities to get to me and then ults and kills me. Is there anyway to deny her , I know zhonyas is in the build path but is there a way to reduce her damage to me?

No problem at all :)

I see you have found one of (in my opinion) Akali hardest counters :D

In my opinion, a very hard counter for Akali - others find it to be more of a skill-matchup. To be honest I think some may pick Akali into a Diana match-up.

However, if the Diana is anywhere near decent and you are not playing at a decent level on a particular day - your entire game can be very painful. If you don't position correctly and allow her some free harass, she can easily out-trade you when she or you go for all-ins. As the game progresses she gets tanky too and she is a very dangerous champion during the mid-game.

She has a shield too which helps her a lot and once she hits level 6 if you are behind or make a mistake then you are in for a real tough time. You will have to dodge her Crescent Strike during trades in order to negate some of her damage. Use your mobility to your advantage and try to out-roam her and get picks around the map. Farm as much as possible but be aware, this is a TOUGH match-up!

• Call for jungle help and try to get some kills on her, especially if you cannot get solo kills.
• Use you mobility and roam for kills elsewhere, she will likely do the same though so be careful.
• In terms of items, Mercury's Treads and Banshee's Veil should go a long way.

Hello , I am a new player (lvl 22) and I have just picked up akali (1.3k experience). I have just transitioned from jungle to mid lane because I found jungle boring. My question is situational items wise , why would guardian angel be a good option. As an assassin , you dive into the back line and yes you most likely die straight away but you get the adc. The thing with ga is if you die , you get back into the rift with half hp but you just die straight away especially if you didnt manage to kill the adc. Also is it a good option to build one tanky item on akali? Sorry for the lengthy question and thanks for the amazing guide!

Hi PrimeRex2205, thank you for the kind comments.

Guardian angel can be taken if you are super fed, snowballing and your death is likely to cause your team to lose. In this instance, if your Guardian Angel has been procced it usually means that the enemy has tried to burst you down or you have gone way too deep. You can make a lot of plays around your Twilight Shroud after you have revived and because of Akali sustain it is possible for you to heal up again. If you have gone too deep on a 'pick', team-fight, tried to 1v9 or simply were caught out of place there is not much you can do. It has a very awkward build path for Akali because of the B. F. Sword but in the right game can be the difference between victory and loss. Due to it's defensive stats, it's a solid choice versus an AD heavy team.

In terms of building one tanky item on Akali, as a go-to build I would try to avoid it and continue building glass cannon. The more experience you gain with her the more you will be able to abuse her mobility, damage and sustain. Having said that though, it is important to build into each game accordingly. If for example you require some more magic resist - a Spirit Visage can be a solid pick-up and will offer you more health, sustain as well as magic resist. If the enemy has a mage that can burst you down quickly: Annie, Syndra, Fizz etc.. a solid pickup to help you survive the burst damge would be Maw of Malmortius. If you find an item that works great for you, by all means pick it up and add it to your kit :)

What made u decide that fleet footwork is better than Electrocute? As of my experience its very easy to roll over the enemy laner with Electrocute and one shot way better.

Hey, good question. Electrocute is absolutely viable and indeed it's a strong rune path. However the sustain from Fleet Footwork synergizes so well with Akali and for me it outweighs the extra damage gained from Electrocute, particularaly since Akali is an assassin that can fight/skirmish for extended periods and isn't restricted to immediately insta bursting an enemy down.

There are definitely people out there who would favour Electrocute though and I imagine many would argue that it's better in solo queue. I do think it's a viable option (just not my preferred right now) so will add another rune choice to include it later today.

Presence of mind + coup de grace or tenacity is much stronger because of infinite energy in teamfights

Thanks for the heads up, I had overlooked the runes on the last guide update and failed to revise them. They are up to date now.

I like your guide, it's very nice! Though I think that starting Long Sword is batter than Dark Seal or Doran's Shield as it will give you enough damage for the start, it is gold efficient and it leaves enough gold for 3 pots + it makes sure that you can get a Bilgewater Cutlass on your first back (and sustain usually won't be the problem).

Amazing in-depth guide on Akali. Really love the overall structure of the guide, really clear cut and easy to read. Provides all kinds of necessary insight on the champion. Will definitely help Akali beginners and mains alike. Great visual design as well. Keep up the great work!
