I've been wondering - is Shurelya's Battlesong actually an decent mythic item? Considering the gold cost, is it ever worth taking that over e.g. Ludens?
Cheers again for an through an through awesome guide!
About Shurelya's Battlesong; I've never actually tried it on her yet, as it's a really bad item for her on paper. Taliyah offers no shields/heals, so she loses out on the Movement Speed-granting passive. The active is nice to have if your team lacks some engage though.
The thing is, there are many champions that make better use of the item ( Rakan, Lulu, Zilean, Karma) or that fill the engaging niche just way better ( Leona, Alistar, Nautilus, Galio). Taliyah will always stay more of a damage oriented support. Combine that with the fact that Taliyah already has some okay-ish engage with Weaver's Wall and Shurelya's Battlesong feels like a waste.
Out of the cheaper support mythics there simply isn't really an item that works well on Taliyah.
I'll try out Shurelya's Battlesong for you and will give you an update on how it went. But if it interests you, go ahead and try for yourself. Finding out what works for you is more important than blindly following a meta. (Although I believe it's an objectively worse item.)
I hope this helps at least a little.
It's important to mention the details on the jungle monsters, the basics of wave management and "taxing" that most players don't understand at all.
This guide truly is good for experimented players and new players alike, the amount of information can seem a bit too much but I think it's fine the way it is, I mean every cases are covered, so, yeah, amazing guide!
Now it's officially updated for 11.5, there you go!
But I wanted to say that when I watch pro players playing Taliyah jungle I see them going Phase Rush as their main rune with Domination as their secondary and wondered if there was any strong reasoning behind this and how it compares to the runes suggested in your guide. Thank you
I'd say try it out and decide for yourself which rune you feel the most comfortable with. Or alternate between the 2 depending on the situation.
I hope this helps!
And secondly, thanks for the kind words! Whether or not this guide might be underrated, it's here to help people, so when I hear from people it was helpful it's all worth the time and effort. :)
Have a nice day!
Hope you didn't missed me. ;)
So, what a lovely guide we have here. I remember how powerfull Taliyah was in S8 or S9? Don't really remember. Quite a strong champion on Jungling was a few seasons ago. Ngl, hated when she one-shotted me. Also, you won the guide contest on this guide. Congrats. :3
Also, you should do a "counters" chapter one day.
You have an upvote from me, pal!
In conclusion, here's the note from 1 to 10: paper > rock ;333
I picked her up in S8 I think? Then she was top tier. But don't worry, I can still oneshot you as Taliyah!
See, I do not have any reason to be jealous. xD Thanks!
Regarding a "counters" or "matchups" section, I personally hate to write that kind of chapters since it takes super long and the correctness of the info depends a lot on external factors like teamcomps, skill level... In short: I'm lazy. xD But maybe one day who knows...
Thanks for the kind words and the upvote! <3
Thanks for your comment.
Taliyah definitely is a tricky champion to clear camps with. I assume you find the first clear the hardest right? It definitely is rough, can't deny that. Either way, it will get better by practicing often. Here are some tips & tricks if you struggle with clearing:
Here is a video I just recorded of me doing the first clear as Taliyah. This example is far from perfect though (no leash, I held onto my potions and Smite for too long...), but it does showcase some of the tips & tricks.
I will add the tips & tricks and a better video example in the full guide when I'll have more time.
And if you don't want to play Taliyah in the jungle, I highly recommend playing her midlane. She's about equally strong midlane and jungle. It still gives you good roam and gank potential while having access to more gold and exp with less struggles.
Hope this helps for now!
But to give a straight answer: yes, you can use Glacial Augment on Taliyah, but it's a very specific playstyle and I don't recommend it above other keystones.
Hope this helps.
Next season there will be an item overhaul, with major changes to the jungle items (you won't have to upgrade jungle item anymore, similar to the support items rework this season). Maybe then it might become viable, but we will have to wait to find out. For now, I won't recommend it.
