Hello, folks;

I've been using MOBAFire for a while and enjoying it for the most. It's very consistent and presentation often elegant. So first of all congratulations for all the development and maintenance efforts.

Now, I've got a question and at the same time a proposal; in regard to the Build sections of a Guide.

I'm mostly certain that we are currently not allowed to add text description/Note to Builds themselves. We can always add a Note for Spells, Rune Pages, and so on. In spite of those possible information, I think we lack the main idea of been able to have a directly related textual presentation of a particular Build (like, revealing basic notions such as ¿what this Build here is for?). Especially, if we have more than one Build in our Guide, there is no immediate introduction for each of those Builds and Guides can get a bit obscure due to this situation. Of course we can still write a Chapter to introduce a Build or many Builds by text, but still, structurally this strategy might generate some sort of 'offset' information, as the Chapter is not directly connected to the Build section (as a Build Note would be, in analogy to a what a Spell Note does for example).

Actually, by using MOBAFire for a while, it's even strange that this option, of adding a Note to a Build, is not present in the UI; it feels a missing part. Maybe there is a reason for that absence. I don't know; but I think it would be great if we could get this Build Note feature. ¿What do you think?

Hey @ Lulu Mushroom Teas,

You can add your own set of notes to builds so I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to with that. They work the same way as with Spells and Rune Pages.

That's a good suggestion but considering the cheatsheet of the guide (top part) is meant for quick information and the Chapters coming after the cheatsheet (where the actual guide starts) are for longer reads, both sections wouldn't absolutely need to be structurally correct. Most readers will check the cheatsheet quickly before games or to make a decision and thus the information doesn't need to be extreme, just easy to obtain. If the reader wanted to read more about the build in question, that's when the 'guide' part of the guide comes into play.
Thanks to Jovy for the sig!

Oh, I didn't know cheatsheet was the name of that area, and that it was used right before games also.
I bet it includes about the 3 or 4 upper sections: BUILD-RUNES-SPELLS-RECOMMENDED ITEMS then.

Ok, sorry; so I need to be a bit more precise on the idea.

It's that, when we are Editing sections, often at the bottom of the Editing UI, we will find a Notes area; so for example, in the Runes section, we find a whole rectangle with: Add notes for these runes; for the Spells section, we find similar block but with: Add notes for these spells; and for Items section, we find: Add notes for this item order

However, while Editing, we cannot find a similar area for 'Notes maker' designed for a Build, neither working from the Build Options, nor from the Basic Setup; both of which are, let's say 'major domains' of Editing, but we work on the center of the page of course, where the main content is visible.

After checking again many of those structures, I believe it would be cool if we had also one of those 'Notes making' boxes/areas/rectangles for the Editing UI —while we are in the page for the Build Options 'major domain'— with the visual aspect/design of a dropdown bar/block (a bit like an Item set, except only containing the 'Notes maker' feature: that is, a box for text with the say "Add notes for this build"). And this block would probably be somewhere next to the 'Build title' and the 'Build picker' (both of which are currently side by side, aligned on the same height. So, if that feature (a 'Notes maker' box specifically for Builds') existed, I believe it could be located (in the case of Editing), for example, right below those 2 blocks ('Build title' and 'Build picker'), and it would be dependent on the 'Build picker' feature (just as the 'Built title' and all the below sections already are dependent, on the Build picker). But I guess it should not be below the section-picker block (SPELLS|ITEMS|ABILITIES|RUNES|THREATS|SYNERGIES), otherwise this might get confusing whenever we open those sections…

Maybe, such idea of 'Notes maker' block for the selected Build, might sound annoying, taking a whole line (although very narrow in height —especially when collapsed and not dropped down); but this would be just be like that for Editing. For the Guide's publishing pages, it would only appear as the commonly known, small Notes pencil icon and followed by "NOTES" text; which the user has to have the mouse hovering over it, in order to check the specific written information. However, I'm a bit afraid there might not be currently a perfect spot for this additional Notes icon around the Build information.

To my experience, at adding Notes to everything, I remember that Adding Notes in very condensed places can get a bit… weird.

Please check what happened to the positioning of the Moonstone Renewer's Notes icon and its adjacent text "NOTES",
in the Item Section
🦄🦄🦄🦄 Tactic-Oriented 1º Item Choices — +Synergetic / Powerful / Optimal / Versatile²
from the
Tactic-Oriented Build
on this Guide

But sometimes it can work a little better, despite very close-by elements, depending on how we set things up.

Please also check, in order to compare, better looking aspect of adjacent elements with Notes,
in the Item Section
🥇 1º Item Choice EXPLAINED (overarching concept) [ WIP ]
from the
Tactic-Oriented Build
on the same Guide

So, even though the Notes icon/text are very tiny, sometimes they get spacial complications around the UI elements. This fact could also be detrimental in adding a 'Build Notes' feature.

Of course, this is just the whole idea, with a bit more reflection. Thank you for asking; because indeed in practice, there were lots of things to think through than I've originally imagined.

I really don't know how relevant that would be to the community.
But I feel like that would be a nice feature also because, if properly designed, it wouldn't take any relevant space neither from the clean cheatsheets, and perhaps not even from the Editing domain also.

Currently, I know I can 'cheese' the UI: I've tested that I can create some Spells section on a particular Build, add a single Spell and then add Notes to it, in order to reflect what I wanted as a feature: a textual introduction to a selected Build, shown as a secondary, hidden content, thanks the Notes feature.

Thanks for your attention; @ Fruxo. Cya around.
