Waaait.
I always thought it was the Pulverize -> Headbutt combo.
Knock up -> Knock back to ally base direction -> Allies get more distance/time to kill target

I think they're hot-fixing the bug where you can first headbutt them and during the headbutt you can use pulverize on them.

that bug has been around for a long time, why are they hotfixing it?
Not only are they hotfixing it, they said they are making it easier to do than it was previously.
They consider it part of his kit I suppose.
I would also once again like to point out that trample does damage to tower =)

The problem with that is that you have to get within Pulverize range first, although if you can, that's obviously the stronger combo.
Headbutt->Pulverize allowed for an extremely fast instant stun that didn't knock them back if executed correctly.
Now that you can headbutt minions, there are some really cool tricks that you can do - for example, headbutting a minion next to a champion so you can land a Pulverize on them without knocking them back at all.

This was definitely a buff to Alistar in my eyes, yes, pre change his passive was amazing for tower destruction, but post change, they spread that damage around. He can actually farm decently now, can take a jungle spawn much quicker, and can actually push a lane faster.

"I saw [Twilight: Eclipse] in theaters with a girl I was dating at the time. I spent more time staring at my toes and wiggling them than I did watching this abomination. When Edward proposed to Blank Face, I finally looked up with a revelation.
I blurted out loud, in a dead silent theater full of teenage girls on opening night "Wait a minute, Edward has no blood flow. How does he get an erection?" I heard several men laughing, and had several girls turn and stare at me.
I did not get laid that night." - Berengier817

May I btw ask why? Sometimes (other threads it's the same) you just write "this is bad/this is good/this is best/etc.". Probably it's right (most likely), but how much does it take from you to write 1 sentence explaining why it is so? I dunno with others, but you seem kind of omniscient (<- ty google translate, couldn't find a word for it) ..
Well, it's not that I mind explaining it, it's just that in most cases there hardly needs to be an explanation because it's (imo) kinda obvious or not too hard to figure out. I'll just answer if someone asks why.
As long as a champion has a reliable disable (not including silence, but snares. Only the movement prohibiting ones so disable may be the wrong word) they can lock enemies down at one position. They don't need to slow their enemies' movement speed because they can make them stuck at one position.
There are some exceptions though. Fiddlesticks has 3 DoT (sorta) spells and it helps loads to have his spells slow enemies(because he can often deal more damage that way).
Alistar on the other hand has 2 disables. One which disables as long as the Rylai slow, essentially making Rylai useless for that spell and another that disables for half the time Rylai slows. Now even if his passive did slow enemies by 15%(because it's AOE) it wouldn't be all that good because the range is horribly short. I don't think Rylai works with non activated abilities. Trample is a passive.
