@DocSmoothJew - I don't know if you're talking to me directly, but I'm not trying to invalidate people's guides with the elo talk. I just want people to state their elo so the readers know what type of game it is. Is it high elo? Low elo? People need to know stuff like that, especially if they take 5 minutes + to read your guide.
Yea, but then you are saying that people should just shrug off your guide if you are lower ELO. And like Dotter and Doc said, if you are a lower ELO, your guide shouldn't just be shrugged off, because you can still know the game mechanics well. That goes for my case too. Hell, I don't play ranked, that doesn't mean I shouldn't write guides and it should get shrugged, I just don't feel like playing ranked and I don't like the Elo system.
Also @ Xai, you said how you were 800 once.
So you understand what it can be like when you first start off at ranked.
Then WHY the flipping **** do you always be all haughty haha I'm awesome you suck to people who are under your Elo, even though YOU were at that Elo (and I doubt you sucked with game knowledge then, you were just new to the ranked scene).
and also @ B-Wong's comment a while back:
you mentioned how you were also against idiots...but what if you were against actual smart players who got themselves at a lower Elo like you? But your teammates were actually idiots? :o

Xaioli, oh no it definitely wasn't aimed at you. Just a general statement because something someone said reminded me to go grab that article again and it is very pertinent to the discussion of knowledge about LoL vs one's Elo.
I suppose in the context of knowing what level the game was being played at Elo is relevant but if you just want it to see how seriously you should take the person's opinion that's rather low.
EDIT: Vulk, I think he meant simply if it was a high level game or a low level game which is at least a little relevant. Like the average Elo of both teams implies at least a little bit about how competitive the game was.

@ Wrath - No.
I was bad. I was bad at League of Legends. I dove directly into ranked when I just hit 30 and made a bad mistake. I played with S1 just came out. I was legitimately bad at this game. Like, there was 'bad players' and there was another category for me. I was bad. I deserved to be 800 elo.
I learned how to play this game. I learned how to carry. I learned how to suck up all the QQ, and stopped making excuses for myself. Grow a ****ing pair and learn that it's ranked. EVERYONE is going to have 'feeders' and 'trolls'. Suck it up and carry. You're not the only ****ing person out there in the world that has to deal with it.
Moving on, I learned to suck it up and look where I am now. 1600 elo. I'm not a douche unless you moap around and QQ like you do. I'm going to be straight up honest with you. If you're low elo and accept that fact that you need to improve, you're fine to me. I'm not going to go around blacklisting people that are under 1200 elo. lmao no. I'm not that kind of person. But when you QQ and sit around being all, ooooooh waaaahh, feeders and leavers, I start to have a problem. Grow a pair and just carry. If you think I'm on a high-horse, get your mind checked.
What if I were against actual smart people who got screwed? No. They weren't good, I wasn't good. We deserved to be in that elo bracket. Again, grow a pair and stop qqing.

I'm not QQing x_x
it's just that you always seem so derogatory to people who aren't your Elo >.>
also, in my case, the only time I played ranked was when I first turned 30, as you, and sucked. Yes, I sucked BACK THEN...
I doubt I would do as bad now, but since I am already in like 1100 from when I first tried out ranked, I'd rather start on a clean slate...which is why I am waiting till S2, then I might try ranked again (even though I'm not a fanboy of this Elo system still x_x)

I had no time to read all the comments (see, I'm not the only essay writer on this site), but I did get to page 6 or so.
I would just like to say that some people don't start playing ranked until they hit around 300 wins.
A while ago we had a thread where people asked whether they'd read a guide from someone who had won 300 games and 50 of them with the champion they write a guide for, or read a guide from someone who has played and won 150 games, and 100 of them were with the champion.
Majority vote was for the person who had the more games because they'd be more knowledgeable of game mechanics.
On topic: In my screen shots I have normal games. But I also have wins and loses stated. I was genuinely thinking of posting a screen shot of my Ashe ranked page thing.
At the moment it's on 6/5. Why? Because the first 4 or so ranked games I ever played I was Ashe. And I wasn't good. The wins I have now with Ashe are due to playing 5man premade, and I am better at her.
I'm currently 1405 elo in premade 5s.
Wouldn't it be obnoxious (or maybe even not impressive) if I stated: HAI, I AM CURRENTLY 1405 ELO, READ MY GUIDE"?
I only click on guides that say "Caitlyn RANKED!" to see if they know what they're talking about or not. If they aren't, I downvote for lying to the community.

@ orochinagi - Addressing you first since you're cool :P.
Yeah I know :P
Of course, incorporating replays is awesome and etc, but with the given replay system atm, you can't skip ahead/rewind and etc. So unless you want to watch a possible hour long game, screenshots are kinda more time-convienent. If you know what I'm sayin' :P
Yeah i'm quite aware of your point. It's just a bonus if someone wants to see it... I usually don't take screenshots but i've started adding wins/losses into my guide from ranked/normal play (lolbase links) in which people can see for how long the game went, how the teams were and how much of my build I did.
I ain't no pro but I think that helps people get a good idea of what Elo I was when I did those games and they can also get their own conclusions...
I'll say it again... I don't understand how people complain about LUCK on a game that pretty much has no RNG (Random Number Generation)...
If the guy survived with 10 hp... it's your own mess up (or his skill). It's not a matter of "he got lucky".
